I actually think the old one is a bit nicer. He looked more realistic and believable, looked like you were just trying to make it flashier and cooler in your second one but it came out a bit too much.

Honestly, I like the old one an awful lot better. :\ I can't say that about a lot of these "Draw This Again" memes, but in this case I feel the texture and color pallette were a lot more interesting. The new one feels like it's trying too hard to impress, with the depth of field, the big, over-embellished glowing bow, the snow blowing through the picture, the fine grain to the cloth and skin, the detail on the rock--so much noise. The bow doesn't feel like a focus as much as a giant distraction sticking out in the overly dark background. That's where my attention goes with the 2012 version -- with the 2010 version, I feel like my focus goes firmly to the character's face, and his weary but focused expression.
The anatomy of the character is certainly improved, and the technique is generally better on a technical level, but I don't feel like I'm looking at a better piece of art. It looks more... manufactured. I'm probably alone in saying this, but I just don't care for it.

I like the design of the new archer even if I prefer his older face...and his new bow is WONDERFULL!!!

I just notice someting, but it's not much in my opinion. I think in the 2012 (and also the 2011, but it was a bit better), the archer doesn't look to someone to shot with his bow. He look to someone who is posing for the camera (he look a us, not the bow) . It's not bad, but in my opinion i would like someone fully concentred on what he is doing.

I see your point, acually I though about this, I tried to change his looking direction, but eventually I found it not as appeal as looking to the camera, his looking direction may implies a new enemy is coming towards him, he has to decide whom to shoot because he got the last one shot

Changing his looking direction may probably implies to change position of the head and some other things, for making the whole working. I can see that here you wanted to redo the same piece of art you did in 2010, not changing the piece for something else. Maybe the idea to focusing on the first enemy could be taken for a another piece. We still pretty see the improvement here.

I dunno. Both looks very nice... the older looks like generic fantasy painting form 80' books, and newer like action-crpg game cover from nowadays. I prefer old one.

i like the new one better! a lot! the archer's fave is much more lively, the old one looks rather frozen.

Beautiful. I love that instead of adding too many details to teh character, you basically kept the same design. Gives the viewer a greater notice of improvement rather then crowding the eye with too many things to fake it ya know?
