Wow! This brought back an old memory. My sister and I were pottering in our garden when we were younger. My father had an old clinker (wooden boat thing) upturned in the garden and Lou and I sat down to eat some toast my mother had made us. As I was about to take the first bite, a honking great seagull crapped all over me and my toast. Lou nearly wet herself laughing - although she was sat right next to me, it didn't hit HER at all

I'm glad my shot could bring back such vivid memories. Having said that. I'm not sure whether being crapped on by a gull would be something I would want to be reminded of.

I remember being absolutely disgusted at the time and just standing with my crapped-on arms outstretched, not wanting to move in case it dripped anywhere else, but it's funny to look back on. BTW, it took me ages to wash the crap out of my hair - the bird got a direct hit on me, up one arm, over my head and down the other arm, LOL

Lovely capture of a mood -- I hope nobody is that efficient at capturing my mood when I reminisce.

Sometimes, but mostly I keep them at bay. Today is good - tomorrow will be better.

Just discard the bad ones, and keep the good. That's what I did. Remember what I said about sad memories turning into ones that will make you smile?

No - I have brain damage. Who are you again?

Very fine, Nigel. It's funny how standing by the shore can bring what's important into sharp focus while the rest fades.

I just got home from volunteering at Samaritans. It is my fourth duty this week, and I am emotionally wiped out. I read your comment as soon as I logged on, and it put everything in perspective, and even brought a misty film to my old eyes.
Those words hold a special poignance for me at the moment. Perhaps I should find more places for peaceful reflection.
Thanks, Steve.

You aren't the only one, Nigel. My life has been way to much hurry-scurry of late. Maybe that's why the photo hit me so squarely between the eyes.
Blessings, Sir.
Steve

Thanks for faving it, Steff. The colour just reminded me of beach huts and light blue and white panneled bathrooms in old seaside guesthouses.

I think I will clone that out. I noticed it, and thought about removing it, but went for a newspaper instead. There is an article in The Times about my brother.

He has just been made redundant from his job, and the Times have done a financial outlook for him. He has been very shrewd and has worked hard....and it shows. I'm really pleased that he has his future so well sorted. Good picture, too.

He wasn't sorry he lost his job. He had been working to this eventuality. I'm rather proud of him. He should be very comfortable in his retirement.
