Description
Still making steady progress. This is part of a test where the hand scanner, just visible in the reflection on the left edge, has an attached camera; this is the view from that camera. The resulting images will appear... somewhere, but only show the subject, none of the background. Initial tests are very promising.I've got some higher priority tasks to tend to in the next few days - but will probably be able to sneak some time in on this. I'm thinking this won't be done until after Thanksgiving (end of November).
But it's still fun!

Based on my current knowledge of earthly tech I can't imagine there is a camera attached to it
Perhaps some sort of scanning rays will come out from it?

Well, it's only a "camera" in the Poser sense.
Of course as we all know, that's just a simulation of the scanner's actual Hyperbolic Phrase Array™ and Metaphoric Manipulator® which do a very detailed scan along multiple wave bands mathematically applying a sophisticated algorithm to generate a highly complex analysis of the state of the being in front of the scanner, also generating a very detailed likeness.
Or something like that...
Nope - no scanning rays - much more sophisticated technology than that!
Thanks as always!!

Uh oh - Looks like I blew somebody's mind... Was it the Hyperbolic Phrase Array™ ?

Pardon my limited earthly knowledge. Their tech are way ahead of us!
You're welcome

Going for it for sure! Thanks.

Fun indeed!
Never noticed how "appealing" the purple people eaters really are until now (I'm usually distracted by certain other "beings")
And having cross-referenced this with "Frame Zero" it's a pleasure to be privvy to what's merely hinted at in the mirrors > An informed imagination is defintely the ultimate in 3D (no glasses, no gunner eyes...pure bliss )

Ha - thanks! Of course - you're actually my target audience for 3D... people who don't like it and who've been unimpressed or even made sick by commercial 3D. Still - no easy way to present it.
That said - it looks like I may have got one of the very last of the DK2 developer models of the Oculus Rift. This is one way to actually do 3D right - but what I discovered is that static 3D on the rift is VERY nauseating unless one holds their head still. For this to work, I'll need to get the Poser Pro Game Dev upgrade and learn Unity. That could be a lot of work... but imagine such a view if you could actually look around? (And it was all properly adjusted to look like it should.)
The two main views will also have the Infinity Drift™ that moves the camera platform gently back and forth and up and down. That, plus a top-notch informed imagination should go far towards implying a 3D experience.

It looks good. That scanner is a cute prop. I don't know that you can use the lightning that can be attached between the antennae as I don't think it's animated in anyway. I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished product on all this, Johnny.

Thanks! Yeah - it is kinda cute, and no plans to use the lighting prop (a bit too cute, and as you say not animated... though - I have my ways... ).
Just took a lunch break and fixed a jiggling leg (IK artifact - raised the hip about an 1/8" and that seems to have nailed it) and one remaining issue with Alien2's right shoulder and the up/down scan) so things are still up and to the right!
Thanks again Molly for checking it out and for your comments - always appreciated. (Oh, and I haven't forgotten about that double-sided dome prop - I'm sure I'll need a break and give it a shot when I'm feeling "spacial".)
