Fluttershy hummed to herself as she walked through the market, smiling brightly to mask her nervousness. The morning had been busy for her; she woke up early and spent about an hour debating her outfit, eventually settling on tight black jeans and her favorite purple sweater. She then went around the outskirts of town and into the Everfree Forest, picking a variety of fruits (only ones she knew were safe to eat, of course!) and placing them in a fruit basket.

Now, after psyching herself up multiple times, she was moving through the market and towards the town park. She knew he'd be there... he always was at this time of day. Sure enough, when she arrived at the park, her breath caught in her throat when she saw him lying on a nearby bench.

He was a yellow pegasus, with a brighter yellow mane and tail, and he wore simple blue jeans and a black t-shirt. He was reading a book, though what book it was, Fluttershy couldn't see. He was none other than Shockwave, a stallion Fluttershy had been eyeing for some time now. While she didn't know what he thought of her, various pep talks from Rarity and Rainbow Dash had finally convinced her to step up and ask him out.

After all, what could go wrong?

She approached him nervously, hoping the sweat beading on her forehead wasn't too visible. "H-H-Hey... Sh-Shockw-wave..."

"Hm?" Shockwave blinked, looking up from his book. He smiled at the other pegasus. "Oh, hey Fluttershy."

Ohmigosh he remembers my name! While on the inside, she was squealing with happiness, Fluttershy tried to remain calm on the outside. Trying to keep her ear-to-ear blush dimmed down as much as possible, she held up her basket. "I-I gathered some f-fruits... and w-was wondering if-" Somepony bumped into her from behind as they walked past, causing her to stumble and an apple to fall from the basket. Blushing even more, she quickly bent down to pick it up.

RRRRRRRRIP!

Both pegasi, along with any ponies close enough to have heard that noise, froze in surprise. All pairs of eyes in the immediate vicinity were instantly directed at Fluttershy; specifically, at her backside. While even normally she'd find this to be utterly embarrassing, it was even worse this time. Because she knew why they were staring: having forgotten about the tightness of her jeans, she had bent too quickly, and now there was a giant rip in the back. A long, wide rip, which very splendidly showed off her lavender underwear, and the pattern of dark blue puppy paw prints adorning them.

The first snicker yanked Fluttershy back out of her trance. She stood up, entire face redder than the apple she had been bending to grab, and quickly turned away from the bystanders. Of course, this ended up unintentionally giving Shockwave a rather nice close-up of her panties, causing him to grow a blush almost as big as hers and his wings to spring up. "O-Oh, wow..."

Squealing, Fluttershy dropped her basket completely, using both hooves to pull down the back of her sweater over the rip. Unfortunately, the tear in her pants hadn't just exposed her undies; it had given enough slack that her pants were much looser now. With both hooves holding down her sweater, neither of them were on her jeans, and so when she tried to make an instinctive escape, they plummeted down to the ground and tripped her up. With a shriek, she fell to the ground, paw-print plot in the air for all to gawk and laugh at - and gawk and laugh they did. By the time she realized she should stand back up, at least one camera flash had gone off. She fumbled with her pants before hastily just making a run for it again, leaving them behind altogether and dashing off to her house, nothing but her underwear below the waist.

Shockwave watched her go with a look of pity, embarrassment, and many other emotions that all blended together. As the crowd's reaction finally died down and they resumed their business, he went back to his book, mumbling to himself. "I'll check on her later... I'm sure she'll be fine..."
