I think the tanks need to be bigger...

I'm kind of working on one or two different game ideas at the same time. Sometimes I run in to something which I can't do, like in programming or whatever so I drop the project for a while and then come back to it later.

Those little trucks are so kawaii. The robots wouldn't look out of place as Unreal Tournament character models.

Yes, one of the things I'm trying to capture is the cutness of early video games~ it's easy to see in pixel art, but more difficult to capture in 3d.

The models would be good for a modern strategy game, but I'm using them for a game made using the blender game engine.

I'm going to use low res textures at first, and then if I can get it working well with them, I may up-rez it later. For now I want a game which doesn't focus too much on eye candy, I want it to be simple and playable.

Eventually It's going to focus on playablity and story. If I can get everything working properly I intend to relase it in instalments. Each one will add more to the story and give you more custom options and more battlemechs (I've got dozens of models ready...)

But first have to get a demo working. I've got all the elements- AI, animations, damage and such, just need to weave them all together without it bogging down with bugs.

Hence the need for simplicity.

Interesting for blender, the texture resolution has me thinking strategy maybe? I considered that, would be nice to have a 3D Battletech strat game. I agree though the tanks might need a boost, that Wasp is pretty light after all.

By the way, like that Wasp head!
