It's back, I've totally redone the M-2039 ELF .45 automatic sidearm! Based again on a sketch I had recently done, this is more or less the final, final version of the standard sidearm of American military and police Special Tactical forces in my sci-fi story depicting the exploits of the US Space Forces (USSF).

Description of the weapon is pretty straightforward, it's a handgun chambered for the .45 ACP ball ammunition first used in the first world war. The magazine carries 15 rounds ammunition, and the weapon has a three-round burst function, same as the Glock-19 (9mm), though heavier for obvious reasons.

Theoretically, it makes a pretty badass weapon and a nice step up from the Beretta F92B the military uses now. Only problem is, I have virtually no experience in firearms design, so actually building the thing presents a challenge. Either way, I think a prop of this is in order sometime, maybe even a custom airsoft once I get in contact with one of my friends out of town.
