Like the Black Worms and other creatures that escaped the Black Comet, the Black Wings infested the skies of Mobius, and were a problem for the natives and the Black Arms, but unlike some creatures, the Black Arms have dealt with flocks of these creatures before. The Black Arms tamed and trained Black Wings to be effective war animals, these elite flying beasts were known as Black Volts, called as such due to how fast they flew compared to their wild brethren, they're also easily recognized by their bright yellow steel armor, however Black Volts still pale in comparison to their superior cousins, the Black Hawks.

Black Wings some of the more smaller creatures of the Black Comet, being about as large as a mobian, Black Wings also don't have feet, so they constantly need to be on the move all their life. Black Wings are very territorial, anyone who wanders into their territory will be victims to various slashes, pecks, and impalement wounds. Unlike many other alien pests on Mobius, the Black Wings are willingly kept alive, despite their hostile infestation of the planet, this is because of their capability to be tamed and ridden.
