First appearance: Shadow the Hedgehog (2005)

These creatures for some reason were once thought to be "larval" Black Arms, however upon further inspection this was disproven. The Death Leeches were one of the creatures from the Black Comet that escaped and now infest mobius, though Death Leeches are less of a threat being that they only hunt slower prey, Death Leeches in their native habitat latch onto larger creatures like Black Worms and Black Oaks, though the Black Oaks don't take getting their blood siphoned too kindly.

Death Leeches normally don't go after Black Arms grunts or mobians, however if they're sleeping or incapacitated they'll seize the opportunity to strike. When sucking the blood of mobianoids (humanoids), Death Leeches will quickly suck them dry in a couple a heavy slurps, as they're used to hunting larger creatures.
