There lies thousands of city-like structures in Hell, large, with curling spires that end in sharp points and large bulbous mounds of rock with blood and slime caking the outside walls. These cities are actually giant hives, these hives house millions of insectoid demons known as the Kytorites, these creatures take on a few forms, they do different tasks and chores depending on their form to ensure the survival their hive.

This form is called a Tick, these skittering, small bugs act as the scout units for their hive-cities, they scurry along the outer reaches of their home to scout out threats, mainly ones looking to destroy the hive and its inhabitants, once they find a threat they will then alert their fellow Ticks and go on the "defensive". The Ticks' idea of the defense of their Hive is quite an unorthodox one, as it involves swarming up in large numbers and rushing towards the threat, then they jump onto it and attempt to suck the threat's blood until they're nothing more than a dry husk, unfortunately this plan fails if the threat is a machine or a Titan.

Despite their size, Ticks are not so easy to kill, as their backsides are covered in a hard, chitinous shell, and their skin is exceptionally tough as well, not exactly bulletproof, but they can take lots of punishment for such tiny creatures. Their lethality not only lies in their numbers, but also their vampiric abilities, Ticks suck the blood of their enemies to not only weaken and kill them, they also use the blood that they just absorbed into their bodies and metabolize it in a digestion-like process, during this process they use the genetic material within the blood to regenerate and heal their wounds, some Ticks even grow in size as they suck more blood.

The Hierarchy have their very own specialized hive of Kytorites known as "The Hive of Chorgaar", Chorgaarian Ticks are used in situations that involve pushing a small incursion back, whether it be a band of rebels fighting back an invasion, or another ravenous horde of demonic predators rushing towards an area of importance, the Hierarchy will send in pods full of tens of thousands of Ticks to overwhelm the threat, in which the surviving Ticks after the scuffle will become stronger.

There are three different forms in the Kytorite species, the Tick being one of them, there's also the Trites, and the Vagaries.
