Description
This is a one-of-a-kind piece of wall art(Not a print) that I created a few years ago to show my love of the Myst series of games. It is life-size, hand-painted on burlap and now hangs on my wall in my private collection along with a few other custom-made Myst decorations. It is not for sale.Related content

Such a lovely job.
In 2004 I once had the luck to buy cloths like this and like the hand one, and they're my most treasured wall hangings now. The creator integrated glow-in-the-dark paint, which was a neat idea.
I'm excited about this new "Obduction" game.

I had done one or two back in 2004 with glow-in-the-dark paint. True explorers think alike!!
I've been keeping up with Obduction news via Facebook. Looks very, very interesting!! *drool*

You really did a good job on this one. Do you mind if I use it as a reference for a PotS t-shirt? I always wanted one with that drawing *_*

Thanks, M!
I do not mind at all if you use my rendition of the shell cloth for reference.
However, I've got a much better screen capture, though, if you need the "real deal".
Just send me a note with an email and I'll send you the reference pictures
that I used.

Hi!
I made the Journey Cloths with burlap and acrylic craft paint. Not much too it.
Thanks so much for the compliment!!

Thank you! What pictures did you use for reference? Did you sell these at Mysterium? I think GrayWolf mentioned that he had one, 1 of 5 or so.

Sara,
I actually had to use my digital camera to snap photos of the computer screen while I was playing the games to get some decent reference. Cyan won't let me sell the cloths. I waited forever for them to put some out for myself and other fans of the games, but it never happened. So I had to take matters into my own hands and make my own. It would have been great if I had been allowed to sell them at Mysterium. So, none have been made for sale since the first ones a few years ago.
At this point, any Journey Cloths that are currently owned by people other than myself are very rare.

Oh, I see. I have a few pictures on my computer of the Journey and PotS cloths, but they're not high-res or anything.
I think if Cyan put out some merchandise, they'd get a lot of people buying it. I'm waiting for MystWear to release their Yeesha shirt and then I'm buying that. Although I'm also thinking of just making one of my own.
One of the few Myst fan projects I've done was to make the cover for the D'mala Memory Book. Tay put it together and then asked me to do the cover. [link]

I think the Yeesha shirt is a very desirable item for us Myst and URU fans. Mystwear is going painfully slow on producing that.
I was actually in negotiations with Dave Glawson at Mystwear for doing the Journey Cloths. But one I had the prototypes ready for him to show Cyan and UbiSoft, he seemed to lose interest and never got back to me. This was actually posted on the URU Obsession forum a while back. I wondering if he found another artist. It would be very difficult to do screen printing on burlap for mass-production. So and artist would be essential.
No big deal, though. We can always make our own for a fraction of any price Mystwear would charge.
Cool cover work, BTW!!
