I think I've figured it out. When I turn off Adblock Plus, the image loads, thus the extension is probably reacting to one of the tags on the image and preventing it from loading on that basis...

Well, whatever it is, it appears to be a problem with my computer. The image comes up fine on my tablet and my mobile...though it is perplexing that this post is the only one in my notifications so affected...
