NOTE- Moved to Scraps.At this point, I think everyone has seen these photos of the Walmart posters and/or they've been recreated and reposted to the moon and beyond. These posters are NOT my work, I claim no ownership, copywrite, or responsibility. They're just amature photos of awesome, amazing, absolutely incredible posters. my goal was just to give everyone a chance to see and enjoy them.
The other three beautiful posters were designed by AllSpark Forums user Nayuki-[link] This map, however, was designed by some other extremely talented and wholly awesome artist! If I find out who it is, I will post the info here.

If this is really the pony version of North America, then that arrow labeled βYonder To Griffonsβ is pointing towards France. And Gustave Le Grand was clearly French. So there you have it: Griffons are the French people of the pony world.

You know here's a funny thing I didn't know till just now. A permanent high pressure area is called the "Subtropical ridge" and the northen subtropical ridge is called "The Horse latitudes"
So anyway we know the desert that define the southen frontier of equestria is such a desert and that usually lies at 30 to 35 degrees lattitude. The polar front that define its northern border can be very flexibel, but I don't think that it can lay much lower then 50 degrees giving Equestria a spawn of at least 15 latitude degrees

This is a wonderful map that will no doubt help dosens of fanart authers put everything in the right places.
Its also a concrete proff that Equestria is indeed empire sized and not merely kingdom sized (or as some outrageous fools out there claim principality sized)
Why? as we can see from this map, Equestrias southen border is defined by a permanent high pressure desert like Africa's Sahara. Its northern border is defined by an arctic tundra region, while the eastern and western borders are defined by oceans. Because the map is not to scale we cannot truly say if Equestrias longest distance are North-South or East-West. My guess would be that Equestria is about the same size as Europe excluding the Russian territories. But easily an empire in size.

I know I'm overthinking this, but those train routes are so... inefficient ~_~. Everything connects directly to Canterlot. Shouldn't there be routes connecting centers of trade? There should be a line that goes from Appleloosa, through Baltimare and Fillydelphia, and connects at Manehatten.
Okay, I just had to say that or my brain wouldn't let me enjoy the map. I really like it
