I tried to make an alien but still animal looking regice. Unfortunate, the plates on itβs body looks a lot like wood
But I like this picture anyway, the regice look weird in a good way.

Actually, since it's supposed to look alien, who's to say that alien animals (or at least the alien equivalents to animals) can't have wood as part of their anatomy?

Because of the pink "flesh" tones and the yellow "eyes", this holds the appearance of a creature cast in ice that has used its "disability" to its advantage. It makes the "Regi" family line more realistic and acceptable.
Also, regarding the ice looking like wood, maybe adding moisture or reflections on it will help aim the texture more towards ice or something frozen. Great picture~

I'd always thought it looked more like wood than ice or crystaline, but I didn't know the red was actually organic tissue. It's pretty good.

I think that it still looks good for trying to look alien-like.
The eyes are pretty much the only thing that really looks early about it, and the body looks about what I would imagine living ice to look like. Not exactly living flesh, but not really fully ice either.

Heh, the Regice looks a lot more alien now that you did it. And this design randomly made me think of an enemy from EarthBound...what was it? Ah well.

It looks so awesome. It really gives the feeling that the Regice went and fought a pretty beefy Grass-type.

I really like this one, as I have said before. Simply the whole composition and coloring of the thing really appeals to me, along with the aforementioned fact that Regice is not drawn nearly as often as many other pogeys. The rarity of the subject matter automatically makes it stand out, and the wonderful artwork makes in memorable.
Plates on its body never struck me as woodlike, perhaps because they are blue, ne?

The only reason it looks like wood is because Regice is in a desolite place where there's nothing to reflect off it, thus it's hard to make the ice convincing looking. And it just occured to me that if there was a bit of pinky-red blending in the middle of each section of ice, it would look like the flesh underneath were semi-visible. But I still like this pic a lot. Partly because nobody likes or draws Regice, and I just love that pink flesh and them eyes.
