Description About the MOC
This is a MOC I tinkered together in one session/morning-afternoon. I was feeling the need to MOC but didn't have any plans, so I sat down and started tinkering with some of the parts I got from Witch Doctor , and out came this guy. I initially wanted to use just Hero Factory parts(minus pins and connector type parts that are essential), but I quickly found this MOC was going to be severely lacking if I had done that. So I opted for using bionicle and system parts, but with an emphasis on a HF build.
I kinda built this guy too fast. he's all done, and I had no time to think up a name or back story. For now he's just a nameless fighter. With some feedback from you guys, I'll go back and add his name and background, thusly finishing the edit and character.

He's probably gonna come apart once I need any of his parts, but I'll go ahead and turn on the critique for this MOC to get some feedback on the simpler HF build aspect of things.

Bio
Name suggested by Gale Winthrope on MOCpages. Neevak was temporarily known as "nameless Warrior"
Neevak is an excommunicated member of the Order Of Mata Nui . He was Exiled after questioning the order's leader, Helyx and refusing to follow orders when told to kill some rogue members who simply wanted to leave. Neevak will still protect Matoran and assist toa who bear no threat to him, but is not above killing toa or order members who try to assassinate or capture him.
Neevak is a very skilled warrior when it comes to hand to hand combat, but it's come at a price for him. He has very little control or use of elemental energy as he's spent his lifetime versing himself in hand to hand combat. His size also means he's not very strong, even for a toa. He relies on skills and tactics more than anything, and with this he's able to survive the assassination attempts and attacks by Makuta and Dark hunters. Neevak mostly spends his time wondering place to place, not staying in one place for too long. Most know him as "the nameless fighter," or "the mute warrior." Neevak is able to speak, but seldom does. He makes Kopaka seem chatty in comparison.

Love the posing, though the kneecaps seem a little out of place. O:

Thanks Vandi. Really? That was like one of my favorite things about his legs. They really do a lot to change the shape and overall impression of his legs.

I suppose it's because I don't see other circles on the MOC. xD

No, but you do see other curved lines on the MOC. This MOC kinda has a Curved X Angular thing going on.

Oh, well thanks man. I hope you do get to making some cool MOCs.

If you ever want feedback, let me know. But I have to warn you, I'll give my honest opinion, even if its not the nicest. I also won't just bash your MOCs. There's a way to give constructive criticism. Some people on DA have figured that out, some haven't.

A very unusual build, to say the least. It looks like it backflipped straight out of some kind of anime. The lines are very clean and the figure looks incredibly dynamic. That said a few things about him are very offputting - namely the flat, almost concave shape to his chest and the length of his neck above his shoulders.

Thanks LP. I agree about the chest. I wasn't really sure what else I could do. Anything over the HF chest armor stuck out too far and there isn't really anything that symmetrically covers the upper part of a long HF body. The neck was more to accommodate the Matorro head. It was kind of a domino effect Slizer foot to make up some kind of armor for the upper body, Matoro head, slightly too long of a neck. Plus I didn't have anymore of the shortest of the HF bone parts. I just had the second shortest one. The chest, neck and the choice in head/mask were the things I were unsure about with this MOC. But I wasn't that worried cause its not like I put any serious effort into it. This is honestly a half hearted effort for me.

I gotta say, and not to just flatter the shit out of you, but this may be the only moc that has ever successfully used that head as a head without looking like Matoro.

Honestly, the only thing I'd call a flaw outright is the tires around the knees, and even then I understand that hey serve a purpose that nothing that fits the color scheme could.

Wow Killian, thank you! The Inika heads are hard to use. Nuparu is like the only decent one. Otherwise they do just look like the Toa they belong to, like you said. Glad I was able to make it work. I wasn't sure at first, but a few other people have said this head is very fitting for him.

I wasn't really sure about a lot of things on this MOC, but for a day's work, and just fo shiggles(to use your term), I was satisfied with everything. But it turns out my instincts were right. People liked this MOC more than I anticipated.

If you guessed "My first technic sets in years", then BING BONG BING BONG~! CORRECT!

This little racecar is great, man, but the Jet Plane. Oh, the Jet Plane is BEAUTIFUL.

Lucky bastard. I just got that small truck on the way. Got @20 left, but psh that don't buy much these days. might hold onto it when the new HF stuff comes out, that way I can get something right away.

Indeed. STILL NO FURNO XL THOUGH! Now that cocksucker Legojank has his review up. I was hoping to get to Furno before he did. And now that overrated douche bag is gonna buy all the good parts on Bricklink to.

Micronauts, they were the original Moc toy you could mix and match

The Micronauts were a series of interchangeable space toys (figures, vehicles, and playsets) produced by the Mego Corporation between 1976 and 1980. The best feature of the Micronauts was this interchangeability, as parts from one figure could be attached to another, significantly increasing the playability of the toy line (in addition to stimulating the creativity of those that played with them).

I like it but I think you used a few too many of the HF chest pieces. Those pieces tend to look weird if they're used elsewhere than a chest. I do like how you used them in his upper leg though

I didn't really have much options when it came to white HF armor, and I had all those chest parts from WD. I wanted to use them. I also did it as a way to give him actual armoring. The ones on his arms are more like big gauntlet shield things. The ones on his thighs are there simply because I didn't really have anything else to fill that space. I like how the armor flanges out in the front, but not the back, it looks weird to me. But eh, oh well. This was mostly just me tinkering around.

It's mostly on the stomach. The sculpted pecs look strange on his stomach. Also the neck is a little long. I like the mask you used. Good for a quick MOC though

Ah Yeah. That's understandable. If I could put something else there I would. But lego's yet to make an extra long chest piece. :/

"the simpler HF build aspect of things."

HF does not have to be simple.

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to st3vethesquid [2012-12-18 23:13:56 +0000 UTC]

I understand that, but nine times out of ten it is. I've used HF to complex effect before, I'm exploring the simpler aspect now is what I'm saying.
