Here's an updated picture of O-jin, who's been in my gallery for a while. I added a couple of ornate pieces to his thigh, I\'m thinking of doing a full fledged HF update to him since he wouldn't need much and I've got some white HF armor. I've given some thought to his back story as well, I've determined that he's of Skakdi origins, not sure if I want him to be undead or not.For those of you that are new to him, here's a little bit about him
O-jin. (ow jean), Malevolence, sadism, insanity, animosity and evil incarnate. Perhaps the nastiest Villain one could come across. He is a ruthless killer. He's rather tactless and quite mad as well. Its rumored that he's not even alive, that he is a demon or apparition. Anyone who is said to have seen the eyes of this demon were slain by him for that very act on its own. O-jin's strength doesn't necessarily lye in physical strength or speed, but more so his quick unpredictable fighting and skillful use of his scythe.
I drew from a Japanese influence on this character. for instance his hat. It is suppose to be a shallow rice hat. His face is also suppose to be something Japanese. Oni, which means "demon" in japanese are popularized in japanese folklore Oni usually have horns and a very Toothy mouth or smile. Samurai often would wear masks of oni as a scare tactic. I wanted him to basically be a Japanese ice demon. His scythe was a natural choice. He's also supposed to have a hint of "death" in him, which is why he's somewhat skeletal looking and he has the scythe.

Well, since you requested critiques on this moc, I shall be giving you some, even though you probably do not know me or my work.
To begin, let's start with what I like about this moc alot: the Hat on top of the Piraka head, the upperlegs and the way you've armoured the upper back are absoluteley my favorite parts about the moc. They are what gives him much of his profile and they give him a lifelike sense of realism. A Skakdi with this appearance seems very likely in a good way.
There are of course also things with the moc I personally do not like, but those things are not neccesarily faults of the moc itself, its more that my negatives are about design choices I would not prefer. Firs of all, the colorscheme. It looks god and consistent, but I would've traded the gunmetal for black. I'm not a big fan of the way you have connected the upper and lower body sections either. The single hordika joint kind of sticks out on an otherwise perfect back and it makes his butt stick out a bit to much IMO.
This is all I have to say about the moc. I like the character and the asthetics quite alot and I must say that it really stands out as one of the more original mocs I've seen. Hope this all helped.

Thanks for posting that. Its odd that people like the upper legs so much cause I've always not really cared for having the dark grey on his legs. I would have preferred more gunmetal there. But dark gray is the closest thing to that. I may go back and introduce Hero Factory to him. Or maybe just update to a 2011 figure cause they've got those new bone and claw pieces and they'd suit him well.

O-jin
I actually never said a lot about O-jin.
So now I thought I could do so through this critique.
O-jin is one very good designed Toa sized MOC. His clean color scheme has a very smooth effect and the different colors are well spread over the whole body. However, there are some parts I would exchange for different colored parts; the white foot part on his lower body always makes me think that his lower body is naked, because my brain is interpreting the color white as O-jins skin color. The same goes for O-jins hat. Because his hat and his head are both white they visually merge together to one entity, which creates a weird effect. Both problems can be solved by exchanging them for different colored ones, maybe even choosing a bigger hat like this one: [link] in light grey, which would work out because O-jins weapon is silver. I'd really like to see the upper middle picture with that hat!
It's also sad that the inner head piece is only available in trans-light blue and not in O-jins trans color.
I've not a lot to complain about the techniques used on him. I'm a huge fan of his upper legs and I think his torso continues the skeleton like look of his head really well. Only the lower legs are a bit short in my opinion and they should also be set apart from the lower arms. I would suggest to customize the lower legs.
Everything else about this MOC is really nice. I think I already sait this once, but I would an O-jin set if it wouldn't be too expensive.

BTW, maybe you should add some sort of chain to the scythe, to make his moves more crazy, vicious, and give him ability distance(like Kratos or Hollow Ichigo)

Very cool my friend love the back story to, I heard tales of the Oni, the unclean spirits of the dead and the Tengu ,the bird-like Tengu Demon is a skilled warrior and mischief maker.
