Description This is what I threw together for 's Bionicle scrap world contest. I worked on this is short bursts(an hour to maybe three a day) for about three weeks. Not bad for just throwing this together. You will see a lot of familiar faces and "features" This I feel gives the character more depth and ties him deeply into the bionicle universe and scrap world. Hope you all like what I managed with this.

Thanks to for holding the contest, any judges that may be judging entries, and the other contestants. I had fun participation .

Bio
The suffering is the oldest known scrap lord in scrap world. He first gained sentience when he was just a "bohrok spider" that assimilated the minds of two rakshi's as his eyes. The combined brain function gave him the capacity for sentience. He then realized he can get stronger by using the mutagen virus to absorb or assimilate other living being or by building himself body parts.. After the initial fall out and war there were a lot of dead or dying creatures, toa and makuta. "The suffering" as he's been dubbed by the survivors for his screaming "suffering" living body parts, scavenged the world finding good components for himself. As a result of the many reincarnations of various toa, their previous forms were left vacant to be claimed by The suffering. Survivors, scrap beasts stay clear of him, no survivor has lived to tell of a confrontation against him. Other scrap lords know not to make an enemy of him or suffer dire consequences. In his old age The suffering felt he should look the part so he acquired a "beard" and walking stick. This is also a ploy against younger unknowing scrap lords who wish to take down "one of the tops," but they quickly find out that this old man is pretty spry.
The sufferings most notable feature is his left hand, that he meticulously crafted from the finest parts he could find. In creating his "masterpiece" he got a little over zealous and built a hand that was excessively large and heavy. But where he sacrifices speed he makes up for it with range and power. This is also his main weapon. His secondary weapon is the large beam he found and uses as a walking stick. After carrying it a round for a century or two he's adept with it.

Yeah, his size. I reckon you specialize in mega-titan MOC, right?

The proper term for it is colossi MOCs. I guess you could say I specialize in those. I have three of them, this guy was a temporary fourth. I don't think I want to do anymore colossi figures, I'd like to do some kind of colossi rahi or something. I'm thinking a big ass elephant would be cool. But I'm also not taking any of these guys apart and I don't have the parts to do anything huge like that. Not to mention I currently can't MOC at all what with moving and not having my own room.

Colossi-MOCs, right. I should try that sometime.

They're not easy. But I think you have the talent. Its a matter of having the parts. I think you're better at this than I am. I really don't consider myself that "good" just persistent and invested.

Outta curiousity, does the suffering still exist? because once me stars and atlantis sets, i'll show you how to make a cha'jya XD the puniest to the tallest..

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to Barrelex [2010-09-16 05:03:30 +0000 UTC]

He's in various chunks for the most part. It wouldn't be overly difficult to put him back together or piece him together differently. If you had any idea how floppy that MOC was you might have not made me winner. I built more for looks than for quality. I had a lot "that's good enough" mentality with him. Though I'd like to go back and do a proper more coordinated revamp. The suffering was supposed to be an obese blob monster type thing. I don't think he came out obese enough. :/ Oh well What about a Cha'jya?

Hmmm well if you want to. I don't have the parts to make yours. I don't have a bunch of those head pieces. You gotta remember I don't have to many of the new sets. Just a few from 09 and nothing from 10.

for size comparison, gah this has strayed too far off topic Dx

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to Barrelex [2010-09-17 07:08:47 +0000 UTC]

I don't even remember what the original topic was. You mentioned something about the suffering and your cha'jya but it didn't make sense to me.

Barrelex In reply to Plague-Doc-Matteo [2010-09-19 05:55:44 +0000 UTC]

XD i was originally hoping for a size comparison and since cha'jya are my smallest mocs available, second being ore elemental, i was hoping for a size-up.

This has been waay too confusing for the both of us it seems..

Well why use the suffering? Any of my other colossi were just as big if not bigger.

Yes it has been.

You can say it, cause you just did. And thank you. Insane and disturbing is what I was going for. It didn't come out as creepy and stuff as I initially wanted. But thanks for the compliment.

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to Dukewolfendoom [2010-06-28 22:13:43 +0000 UTC]

Okay? I'm familiar with the film, though all the names get switched around I don't remember who's who except for the main transformers.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dukewolfendoom In reply to Plague-Doc-Matteo [2010-06-29 13:59:23 +0000 UTC]

Well, Jetfire used to have been a badass Macross-based Previously-Decepticon-now-Autobot transformer in the 80's, right?

Not in the movie, he's a haggard old 'bot who turns into a blackhawk stealth plane and fuses with Optimus Prime to turn into Power mode/PowerMaster Optimus Prime...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to Dukewolfendoom [2010-06-29 20:46:28 +0000 UTC]

I wouldn't know. There's so many renditions of transformers I don't know which is which. I watched an animated series in the early to mid 90's that I think was new at the time.

Okay so that was jet fire. Like I said with all the name changes through various renditions it hard to keep track of everyone. Optimus prime and megatron are the two only consistent ones really. But I really like that haggard old bot, he was my favorite character in the second movie. I sorta based this off of Him. I would have said something about that in the artist comments but I couldn't remember the character's name.

Well ok Glad I helped you remember, lol

The first time I was introduced to Transformers was with Beasties/Beast Wars...

God I miss that series. :/

HAHA I vaguely remember beast wars.

Wow, I love how you have pieces of partially assembled and identifiable sets. But seriously. What a monstrosity. *Alien cowers in corner with tail between his legs*

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to hydr0ph0en1x [2010-06-25 21:18:30 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I liked how that all turned out as well. Yeah it is a monstrosity, and also a monsterious pain in the ass to stand up HAHA yeah alien would be lunch meat agains't this guy. alien would do some damage sure, but it would be pointless cause Suffering could just fix what ever gets broke, and he's damned immpossible to kill. Yeah that's wise of your alien.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hydr0ph0en1x In reply to Plague-Doc-Matteo [2010-06-25 21:54:13 +0000 UTC]

Aha, yeah. Alien can always do plenty of damage, mainly because of his acid blood, but yeah, this guy is tough. Congrats.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to hydr0ph0en1x [2010-06-26 05:34:17 +0000 UTC]

Yeah that would be a nasty bit a few jabs of his main claw thingy that stuff would be leaking out all over him. Though alien blood does seem to loose its acidity when it coagulates or something. He could still smack the everliving crap out of it though with his big stick. *SMACK* BAD DOG THAT IS A BAD DOGGIE!!! NO!!!

haha that's good. You have no idea how much it irritates me when someone can't take a personal joke. I have something that I'm going to make my new signature. I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing with you, at me." And to be honest, yeah you don't stand a chance. I hate being arrogant or egotistical and I hate that "I'm better than you" attitude most people have and as a person I don't feel that way but when comparing your's and my MOCs I do think mine are not like a lot better but they are better. But I also have more parts and no life so I can put more into them

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to hydr0ph0en1x [2010-07-07 07:11:40 +0000 UTC]

Good. I don't walk around with that "I'm better, mine are better you suck" mentality. Like I tell ever one else. I don't think I'm better at this, I'm just more persistent and invested. I know if you had what I have both in time and resources you'd have some Killer MOCs to. You do come up with some pretty rad stuff.

Yeps. So what cha get? Man its been so long since I got any decent bionicle set. The last thing I got was that skrall that mototaur and Ryakk have been terrorizing.

hydr0ph0en1x In reply to Plague-Doc-Matteo [2010-07-09 01:58:22 +0000 UTC]

Well, I got a midak skyblaster for Jack's skybike, I got all the pieces for the one joint construction in the makuta teridax set, I got some pieces for making pistons and I got some of those half unit thick, 3 unit long pieces with the +o+ pattern. Pretty much. Yeah, the last one I bought was tahu stars edition. Let me give you some advice: don't buy the stars.

Ah cool Lucky brat. I NEED MORE PARTS AND I NEED NEW PARTS WAHHHHHHH and I'd only get stars for the parts. I want the yellow rakshi and tahu

hydr0ph0en1x In reply to Plague-Doc-Matteo [2010-07-11 05:40:08 +0000 UTC]

Ugg, but they are not worth the horrible price. Way too expensive and the parts aren't even that great. I got tahu. The mask isn't even the normal size, and the sword is really thin and kinda cheesy looking. I don't like it.

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to hydr0ph0en1x [2010-07-12 03:51:41 +0000 UTC]

Oh really that bites. BOOOOooooo. Though I got a lego magazine that had this thing with it for the Hero factory and that stuff looks pretty sweet. No wonder they were crapping out on bionicle.

hydr0ph0en1x In reply to Plague-Doc-Matteo [2010-07-21 01:40:12 +0000 UTC]

Haha, yeah, I got that too. I don't know. I can't really tell from their super cryptic pictures. Might be really neat though. I think I saw a normal canister sized set with pistons in the legs. If this is what the future holds, then I will be excited. It really has potential. I think there are some interesting new techniques as well.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to hydr0ph0en1x [2010-07-21 20:37:17 +0000 UTC]

HAHA yeah those where pretty cryptic. And I know what set or sets you're speaking of and no way were either of those canister sets. Von nebula is definitely going to be a larger set a "box set" as I call any bionicle thats not in a canister. Then I think that "explode" guy is one to. I just remember its the one that's orange. then there's the motorcycle and that drop ship thing, those look cool. You might be a little too young to remember the throw bots and robo riders but the way they've structured these sets is very reminiscent of those. Hell I was like 10 or 11 when those things came out, then bionicle came out after those. I was like the perfect age or in the right age group when bionicle came out. I remember absolutely loving all the bionicle stuff I got that first year.
