Description
Okay, this is my second giant monstrosity. His name is mototaur. He is a minotaur with roller blade feet. He has a pneumatic (air) powered hip/ suspention system. He also has a bohrok head morning star for a weapon. This figure is more mechanically technical than Ryakk, my other insanely large Bionicle MOC. I plan on rebuilding this figure, because functionally, he isn't right yet. There are still a lot of bugs to work out. Look wise I think he's great. He is very menacing. When his torso and legs are fully extended he measures at about two and a half feet. The wheels on his feet allow for smooth movement if he were to run or attack. Again with this model, all the joints move and are articulate. He even has those weird minotaur legs. This model presents a lot of technical and mechanical challenges that I have already and need to have met. I enjoy working this figure the most because he is the hardest.*update* I changed this picture on this. His feet have been updated and redone, and they're also about to be redone again. But for now this is the current version.

I could use the money. But sadly Mototaur doesn't exist anymore. I took him apart because I was generally dissatisfied with his build. I wanted to improve him but to do so I would have had to rip into his internal structure a lot so it just made more sense to scrap the whole thing. I had planned to rebuild him right away but I kept putting it off. It's been years now. But I do plan on rebuilding him some day.

Aw, well it's a real cool moc nonetheless and heck maybe when/if you rebuild it you could submit it to Lego Ideas.

Thanks. I wouldn't bother with that. Lego Ideas is very limited in its scope and even if I somehow manage to get 10,000 supporters, I don't think Lego would greenlight a constraction project like that.

Thanks. Well I built Mototaur several years ago. I just got a lot of bionicle as a kid. It was all I spent my allowance on, and all I asked for for birthdays and christmas for a few years straight. Now I source my parts from Bricklink, a website for buying Lego. www.bricklink.com/browse.asp
As for talent. Well Talent is just skill built up over time. You can get there if you applied your self. Its just like drawing or painting, it's an artistic skill that you have to develop.

How do you get into mocs? I'm not sure where to start but have PLENTY of pieces.

You just gotta sit down and figure out how the parts go together. Then you've got to try and learn how to put the parts together in a way that gives you what you want. Also, finding your own solutions to problems is key. If you build everything just like the sets then you haven't really created your own thing, you just borrowed Lego's ideas. Does that make sense? Good MOCing is about finding your own way of building what you want with the parts.

Ummm I didn't build it all in one go. I kinda worked on it over the course of a few years. Building something, putting it up on the shelf for a while, coming back to it, reworking or improving designs, and just repeating the process.

Thanks.
Ummm...I didn't build him in one sitting or over a course of days or a week. It was the product of working on it, leaving it alone for a while, working on it some more, improving upon it, then repeating. So...I dunno.

Hope you like it. Not quite as good as yours, but it's my first on this scale.
Got any tips?

Building in large scale isn't as easy as people think. But keep at it. That's all I can really say at this point with out being too harsh.

This is amazing!
I especially like the color scheme, because it gives me the impression of this typical brown fur minotaurs usually have.
Also the size speaks for itself.
Have you ever weighted him? He must be really heavy. I hold Byorak from Alex-Darkrai once and he was really heavy!
Would be interesting to know how much this masterpiece weights.

Thanks. Have you seen the 3.0 version? He was massively overhauled from this one.
Thanks. I've gotten pretty mixed reviews about the color scheme. Some said it was too hectic and all over the place, Alex said it looked like a Van Gogh painting. XD
Yeah, I imagine Byorakk is heavy to. Moto's definitely not light, especially now. But no, I've never weighed him. I have a regular scale for people but I don't think that'd give me much of an accurate weight. I'd like to do that now that you mention it. I'm curious as to what my biggies weigh now. And thanks for calling it a Masterpiece.
