While playing Echoes I always wanted to have Samus get the upper hand on Dark Samus. I also wanted to destroy that bitch once and for all. But she/it just keeps coming back! I hope we finally get this Phazom thing cleared up in the next game. Until then enjoy my take on an upgrade to Samus’ armor. This way she could use the Hyper Beam all the time.I did this one all in the computer. I found out I don’t like that. At least the line art part.

Hyper mode doesn't let you run fast and shoot hyper beams etc (at least, that's not confirmed).
It DOES let you use special attacks. It incorporates two meters, one gives you a time limit, which, unless stopped, will kill Samus when it hits 0. The other is the phazon meter, as long as it's not empty, you can use those special attacks, when the meter is emptied, the first meter stops and you exit hyper mode.

So, as long as you use up all your special moves before the timer runs out you'll be fine. That sounds cool. I'm really interested to see how the controls work out. I've played some shooters for the Wii and to tell the truth they sucked on the conrols end of things. Partly because your arm gets tired and you let it fall to rest it and then suddenly you are aiming at your feet and they shoot you dead. I hope the guys at Retro figured out a way around that.

Metroid Prime 3 is supposed to have a Hyper Mode, which allows you to run quickly and shoot the hyper beams (but drains your health). Anyway, it looks great.
