Recently I was told by a friend who claims to be a christian that we need to shut down the border because Isis is working with gangs in Mexico and other countries below us to train islamic terrorists.. which is amazingly stupid. I tried reasoning with him but you know how well that works with Christians. I thought instead I would remind him that God gave specific instructions on how to deal with people who came into your land looking for help.Related content

I'm not a Christian. However I still oppose the children crossing the border. I don't want to be that ass but what will we do with them. There seems to be no able solution. Where are we going to put these hundreds plus kids? Not only that I'm concerned for them because these are unregistered immigrants. If someone kidnaps them there is no record and they just disappear off the face of the Earth. ~ C

There are good reasons for having borders and protecting them. Have you tried to enter Mexico, demanding that they pay for your medical expenses, naturalization, transporting you to wherever the heck you want inside that country? Try it one day. These people aren't even screened for communicable diseases in most cases.

See, here is the thing you are failing to grasp: The media wants to tell you sensationalist stories so they will get more money. What they say doesn't matter. They are a business, and their business is selling you bullshit. If you want to know FACTS you need to go to the people who actually deal with the problem at hand. Just like you wouldn't turn to a news reporter instead of a doctor to ask him why your eyes are oozing yellow puss, you shouldn't turn to a news reporter to ask them about the likelihood of terrorist attack.
Ask the people who's actual job it is to deal with terrorists and you will find out that they think America as a target is so low on the ISIS agenda that there is about a ~5% chance of anything happening and if anything does happen it will be a "Lone wolf" scenario where a single crazy individual shoots up a mall or burns down a church or something.

I'm sorry to disappoint you after your lengthy rant, but I don't watch tv or read mainstream news. So your whole story how I'm buying into someone's this or that is worth nothing.
If I ever get close to reading or watching mainline news/reporting, it is second-hand. From alternative media like infowars com etc. Actually, their readership is higher than many of the giants-in-their-own-minds MSNBC / FOX / fill-in-blanks...

Yes, American troops died, and that is always sad, but they were on a fucking battle ship. They knew it could happen.
