It's a bad month for Republicans it seems they are going to have to drop their law suit and demand to impeach Obama because apparently there are people who live outside the republican circle-jerk that actually remember history so they have no legal leg to stand on. Don't think that will stop them from pretending they are going to do it, but it will never happen.Don't worry though! They still plan on shutting down the U.S. Government because Obama did something.

I don´t know much about the whole thing but the difference this time seems to me that the Bordersituation with Mexico and the Drug War in Mexico flooded the US with a high amount of individuals that could be categorized as unwanted*, in a record time. (*Criminals and gang members and such). This might be the reason the Reps see red and went full stop on that idea.
Was the 87´ the Situation any different or somehow better than todays? Bringing families together is a good thing, but the system must keep out the problematic ones...pardoning them all now makes no sense at all...But it´s too late I guess...They are in...

The changes Obama made will only effect people who have been here more than 5 years. The flood of immigrants from the war torn countries isn't going to be overly effected by it. He's sending more people to help deal with it but for the most part the laws that let those kids stay in the country when they flee a war zone have been around for ages. The republicans are making much to do about nothing. If they made an actual path to citizenship that was reasonable then it wouldn't have been an issue in the first place. Obama just made a politically popular stop-gap measure, in the end it will be up to congress to crawl out of the dark ages and institute a system where people can immigrate legally without it taking half their life time.
