Description
This was a quick one, maybe five or six hours total work time. I guess the warrior is reluctant yet bound to leave while the woman is angry at the necessity of his going and is sad to see the warrior leave. It is hard in these times to draw pictures that in any way support war, and that is not what this is. It is more a picture of the trajedy of necessity and the people that are affected.Related content

Epic picture Reminds me of the classic image of Spartan men leaving for war

She might tell him to return with his shield or on his shield.

That's a "quick one"? Youch.
I love the composition, it reflects the sad atmosphere of the situation. Your linework keeps getting better too. I like the woman's expression, it seems to distant and gloomy, poor thing.
In one word, excellent!

Well, relatively quick. There is no border or background and I think I could have put a little more time into the male figure. I appreciate the support, as always. In a word, thanks!

Very nice picture as always...
It's always hard to say goodbye to the people you love when duty calls...
When you have to fight for home, beloved persons, way of living etc it's always difficult but there's no other way for a man of honour.
I think we all face it in way in our daily life...Nobody wants to go for work if he (or she) can stay with his beloved persons, whoever they are...But if he won't go, we all know what follows...
Ok, enough philosofy, congrats for the nice pic & keep it up.
