Description
I had wanted to do a picture of a Scythian woman for quite a while so I finally got it together and did it. I was okay with the final result, but I always feel I can do better...Related content

Β This is, in fact, a perfectly splendid piece in its own right and a fine companion to your gallery of Ladies from the Ancient World!Β Β

Nice. The eyebrows resemble Iranians, and I've read that the Scythians were an Iranian people.
I think you even got the armor right.
The patterns on the saddle look like they could be Parthian, too. I've seen those patterns on Parthian silver bowls.

Well, they were a nomadic Iranic people. Kinda crazy like all nomads.
Their current descendants are Balkarians, Ossetians, Jassic people and to some degree Kabardinians.

Amazing, it's got so much design in it....my head would hurt working on something like that. It's really neat though.

That's weird, my head DID hurt a lot yesterday. Maybe that's why? Thanks, much appreciated.

Wow, so much details! But I see, I`m not the first person, who said it
I think the neck of the horse is a little bit to short?!

Maybe so. To be honest, I was going for a stockier, smaller horse. Thanks for the comment!

Don't belittle your work, you simply can't afford to say such things! I'm sure the Scythian Princess wouldn't approve of it. Needless to say, she's looking fantastic and I stress, yet another time, how your details stun me, every single time. You really do know your mythology and ancient history, it's incredibly impressive and shines through your work. Her expression is captivating, clearly a determined and strong woman riding that horse! Great job.

Well I wouldn't want to anger her highness, I don't want to be at the edge of that sword. Mythology and history really do drive most of my art and I've always enjoyed them both. Thanks for the support and I look forward to sending some back your way.

Your gallery is a big favourite of mine because of its content (and the superb art, of course), but there are far too few artists on DA who make such beautiful pieces inspired from mythology and history. Well, or just any art at all, be it beautiful or not.
Anyway, you're always welcome! I doubt I'll have time until school's out to make anything artsy myself, but never say never, hehe.

Aww, c'mon. Just stay up all night and squeeze something out for your fans! I appreciate your appreciation of history and mythology...there are too few of us left these days.

Hey, who knows? I tend to stay up way too late anyway, might as well do something constructive with the time!
And indeed we must spread the history/mythology love, it mustn't go exstinct.
