Description
Sif of Asgard, wife to Thor the Thunderer. Perhaps best known for her hair, which was spun from pure gold. It's a great story.The tattoos on her arms are in reference to Ahmad Ibn Fadlan, the tenth century Arab traveler. When describing the Vikings he encountered, he wrote that they were tattooed from "fingernails to neck". Although probably referring to men, there is no reason to believe that women did not enjoy decorating themselves in the same way, especially to show their status.
