That is the wrong question. The acurate question shoud be: "Does your country or any other country in the world has invested in weapons, bombed and occupyed so much countries as the US?" - No. No any country in the world "knows about war" as the US

I recently joined the US Army, and I have to say that I agree with Jimmywires. The Corps and the Army are two different branches of the United States military and if you feel the need to insult myself and my brothers and sisters then you should at least get your facts straight.

If you read the rest of the comments you will realize I confirm the only mistake of this poster: to confuse the Army with the Corps.

The rest all the facts are straight: in international politics the Marines, the Army, and other military forces, are used by US government that is controled by powerful corporations, in order to invade other countries (ilegally), commits its war crimes and crimes against humanity, in order to serve the main purposes: to gain politicaly dominance over territories and to profit.

If you've got a problem with the government and the corporations that, supposedly, run it, then I suggest you make them out to be the bad guys in your "artwork." As it stands, you're just offending the men and women who feel it is their duty to stand ready to defend their nation from its enemies. No matter what you say or how you say it, I will always know with every fiber of my being that I am doing the right thing by swearing an oath to defend my country and those I care about regardless of the cost.

That is what it means to be an American Soldier.

The only millitary intervention by the US made outside of the country, wich I might agree was "fair", was in the Second World War.

I can recall about 20 military US invasions into other countries, the last ones in Iraq, Yemen and Pakistan, where what you call the "enemies" didnΒ΄t were any danger to US safety, where this invasions serve US corporate profits, were thousands of civilians were killed, and necesserily where american soldiers are used in this investements as tools: theese are the real soldiers duties weather you like it or not. The rest about "the oath" or "defend the flag", to be "patriotic" is just blablabla to blind people and keep them asside from the "real plans and goals".

War is not supposed to be fair. The United States has the best training, the best weapons, the best tools, and the best people for a reason: to win. If a fight is fair, then you're doing it wrong.

As to your other statement, I ask only one thing: prove it. Prove to me that the United States did the wrong thing in removing Saddam Husein from power (I will admit that President Bush lied about our reasons for attacking Iraq, but the end result was a good one). Prove that we've taken any steps against Pakistan or Yemen. Prove that a country that was viciously and unjustly attacked 10 years ago would even consider doing the same by attacking civilians. More important than any of that, however, is your continued attack against soldiers. We're not tools for "the corporations." We're not murderers of civilians. We're human beings with families, friends, and loved ones. All I ask is that you show us a little respect for being to step into the line of fire for you.

But I know that you won't. I'm not going to change your mind and I can promise you that you won't change mine. Since that's the case, I suggest we go our separate ways and agree to never again so much as speak. I do have one final piece of advice, however: if you see the world as being broken, then get up and go do something about it. I don't care what, I don't care how, just do what you think is right to make it a better place.

Agree with you Bonta. I am not trying to be nosey, but my fiance is a Marine, and I will say that this is so stupid and the picture should be taken off so everyone will stop arguing about it.

Any framework for any conflict is International Law. After 9/11 (an event that had the participation of US government) George Bush came on TV and said Saddam Hussein was (1) "involved in the atacks in the towers" and (2) that "Saddam has weappons of mass destruction" and (3) that "Saddam presented a threat to United States security" - the US government even presented FALSE evidenses. At the time, the all world belived and consent was fabricated. But after some months, little by little, the all world realized US government lied for legitimizing a ILEGAL invasion (according to international law) that killed almost one million civilians in Iraq, made almost one million refugies, and a whole country destroyed that even had a better health system than the US. Iraq was/is a huge investment payed by US tax payers whoose profits were gained by a few, even people from the government: For instance, Halliburton’s from Dick Cheney’s profit $17.2 billion in Iraq war-related revenue from 2003-2006 alone. The massive payoff is said to have financed the construction and maintenance of military bases, oil field repairs, and various infrastructure rebuilding projects across the war-torn nation. There are other 24 corporations in US that also gained huged proffits.

And, of course the US just donΒ΄t even care about the soldiers, you can talk with many veternans and check the governmental injustices are carried on them. There are many testimonies of soldiers that realized they were being used to conduct ilegal invasions, like the ones in the Middle East. Here, you have a testimony of a US soldier speaking about Iraq: [link]

You can complain to uncle sam that loves to recruit young people as tools and send them to protect the expansion and interests of some big US companies in the name of "democracy" and against "terrorism". And you felt insulted because I called army to the marines? Sure...

Marines are proud of who they are and what they do. Why would he not be smiling? Besides, this is a Digital Photomanipulation, who knows what the artist has done to it ....

As usual your comments are so absurd for someone that has this self image of an informated person... Who cares about if the marine is smiling or not? Those are not the important issues in the image.
