Description
Gift art for of her character Rune. After Molly uploaded a new reference sheet for Rune, I just felt like drawing her again.
Her design is too challenging for me to resist it and I needed to draw her again, but alone unlike I did the first time [link] .
This was a fairly quick work, only Rune took a bit longer because of her markings.
Those rocks are awful, I really need to pratice shading them.
I'm pretty happy with this overall, there are some things I wish I had put more time into, but I like it.
Again, drawing horses lying down isn't something I do too often and I think this is the first time I drew one without a reference.
No critics on this one please, thank you! Unless they're about the rocks, those would be greatly appreciated!
I'm sorry it took so long Molly! Hope you like it!

I thought that some ruins in the bg would look great along with Rune, because her design reminds me of those ancient buildings and such.
Thank you so much Tara!
And thank you for both s!

This looks wonderful, you have such a skill with colored pencils. I think you did a really great job on the pose, and the sand and water looks amazing. I know people have already commented about the shapes of the rocks so I won't really go into it but maybe use some other colors. Usually rocks around waterfalls are kind of mossy or brownish with slime so maybe make them really dark on the left side where the waterfall would be shadowing them, I hope that helps a little, rocks are super hard

Water looks awesome here! And horse as well.
And I agree about rocks. Their shapes are wrong. And shading could be better as well. I could suggest taking a look at this tutorial [link] I personally like this one. It's for digital paintings but honestly with pencils it's almost the same. You start with highlighting the basic shape of each rock and give it a light shading and then go into details, only difference is that with pencils you must remember not to make them too dark while shading roughly, while in photoshop you always have a chance to add lighter highlights whenever that's needed.

Oh, this is gorgeous darling. You really have a talent for working with colored pencils, they have never liked me very much at all. But I really like how you composed this piece, and the broken statues in the background are a bit haunting, and leave me wondering more about where she is.
I think the rocks look good, though as far as critique goes, i would watch out for making them too 'wavy'. You did a good job making them look jagged (which is what you were going for, I assume) but the harsh, straight lines make them look more geometric than organic. I would try using the really dark shadows you used on the sharp lines, but spreading them out, in circular motions, to give them more depth/roundness.
Ugh, what a half-assed critique, i'm sorry. ;-; I'm a terrible person. But I hope you understand what I was saying, and that it was even just a tiny bit helpful.
