Description
My half of an art trade with the lovely Laughing-Kelpie . This is her gorgeous boy Brocair who took me down memory lane to the times when all I drew were colourful fantasy equine OC'sMake sure to check out her half too c:
So, I had an entirely different pose for this "military man" in mind at first, but when I sat down to sketch him, I was feeling up to a more serene setting instead, so I went with that.
This image makes me so happy, you have no idea. It's been such a long time since I last found the perfect combination of inspiration, motivation and time to draw something like this. I missed it <3
Hope you like him too gorgeous-face, he was such a joy to work with! Thank you so much for doing this art trade with me.

Thank you <3
I use a variety of them, but mainly I use Faber-Castell's Polychromos, along with Art Grip to work out the finer details that require a more sharpened lead. Some times I also borrow my sister's collection of Derwent pencils, but Faber-Castell is my go-to brand. I highly recommend Polychromos, though they're on the expensive side!

OH MY GOD.
This is absolutely stunning; you work so fast! o: I'm late commenting because I kept coming back to it and staring.Β
I love the contrast between his colours and the background, and the beautiful flowing movement to his tail. He looks so playful and full of life and action, I can just see him getting excited and frisking around in the snow I love the pose and the composition and just everything. I'm so glad you're the first to draw this boy, you absolutely did him justice and then someΒ Β Β Thank you so so much!

Haha, this might be the first time someone calls me fast regarding my artwork Holidays are a wonderful thing lol. The background alone took about 4 hours actually, I lost track when I started working on Brocair though xD
I'm so glad you think I did him justice, that's about the best compliment I can get Thank you so much c:
