Description
First part of an art payment for omgitsacat of the two pretties A308 RAS One More Light and A323 Dave .Starting with chibi style on this 'cuz I miss drawing chibis, I promise I won't go the chibi route on the entire payment
I imagine Flare saw Dave limping and is now trying to figure out whether she can (or should) help him or not, seeing as Dave is giving her that "asshole first impression" look.
You'd think Flare would take longer to work with, but no, in fact Dave took longer than her. White ponies, man. He's going to give me some much needed practice. They're both really fun to work with though, looking forward to drawing them more <3
Dave belongs to omgitsacat
Flare belongs to z0mbiekid
Image is © to me, only the owners of the horses may use it.
January 2018, A5 size
Coloured pencils, mechanical pencil, soft pastel sticks and pencils, copic markers, white gel pen.
4/15 kaaring

I'll be expecting at least 10 sketches to colour when I get home, even though I can't because my hands are being jerks.

Thank you Noah! The background took so much longer than both the ponies lol Mainly because there was a lot of experimenting going on. The process went a bit like: "Okay so pastel sticks and pencils, as usual... Working on iiiiit. OH WAIT- what about the pastel pencils you almost never use? Yeah, let's work with those a biiiiit. OH SHI- Copic markers would add some great texture too!" Luckily, it all went well. It could have gone terribly wrong so easily
Makes me happy people are noticing my backgrounds 'cuz I'm trying really hard to make them better, more diverse and interesting <3

This is so beautiful!
I love all the details you captured in the lines (ugh, your hair is just to die for).
And you have such a beautiful style of traditional drawing/coloring.

Eeee, thank you <333
Lineart is that thing that still eludes me a lot in traditional (digital art makes things so much easier in this aspect xD ), so I'm glad you like the lines! And the hair is that thing I always look forward to working with the most, heh.

Okay firstly how can you get such smooth wispy clouds in pencils? I can barely manage wispy clouds in digital lol
Flare looks beautiful! Her dapples look especially nice, and I love Dave's curly feathering!

I take advantage of one of the few things trad art has advantage over digital, in this case my electric eraser I colour the entire sky first, and then randomly go over it with the eraser while varying in pressure. Until they decide to invent a vibrating tablet pen, I will hold onto this advantage in traditional, it helps me immensely with clouds xD And what are you even going on about, you're like the cloud master!
Thank you c: Glad you like them Flare is such a gorgeous girl!

I had no idea that electric erasers were a thing and now I'm intrigued lol. I don't do a lot of trad though tbf (but more recently I have been). I appreciate the compliment of cloud master but I can in fact draw one very specific type of cloud only lol, need to practise others!
Thanks, I think she is too

Haha, don't worry about that, I didn't know they were a thing for the longest time either, more than half of the time I've been making trad art, soooo... They're a real life saver though, especially when you need to erase small stuff in a precise way.
Pffft, okay, you may not be able to draw all types (yet), but you definitely can draw more than one and they're fabulous!
