Nasfar: My Spear's Longer Than Yours.
Szordrin: Yeah, Well My Blade's Bigger!
(I know it's a wee bit hard to read lol )

*ahem* ooook! so you see I have been wanting to do some sort of drawing for *DarrkestDrow for like ever and age but couldn't think of anything definite. Wanted to draw one of her characters...but who? ya know? heh...and doing what? especially if I wanted it to be a surprise, well I wanted to get the character accurate and just well mewfers! Because Darrkest is one of the coolest people out there lol....She's not afraid with her work and does some really naughty-fun stuff. You have to love her Her art style and her descriptions and journals are all well worth the devWatch, seriously! She's just great! Awesome as sin. literaly o.o lol And seriously her initials are TSR???? like TSR/WotC!? how cool! *geek*
Ok enough ass-kissing for the moment and on to the picture...hehhe......so the story for this? as Tal pointed out I like to explain my thought processes in descriptions at least when I can think enough to write them out. Basically Darrkest had commented on that drawing of the grey-skinned & silver-haired elf Keldrah that I'd done for ~Syphax as a commission that she liked the scythe and would "take one in red & black" . A lot of people really liked that scythe but it wasn't completely my own design. I was given a character's weapon I was to base it off of so I did ,but hey. Anyway, I got to thinking well maybe I could draw one of her characters with the weapon....that would at least give me something to draw for her! And be somewhat of a surprise too. But who? I had no idea And then here it is the same night that she made that comment and I'm sitting her at 4 am unable to sleep thinking "hmmmm.....what to do what to do?" and then I'm thinking well maybe Szordrin. He seems an obvious favorite for others as well as one of Trey's favs herself. But I don't know if such a weapon is really in his character. But then the exact moment I think that, suddenly I get this image in my head of Nasfar standing there (already knew he'd be taller than Szor because he's taller than most all drow but didn't know how MUCH taller he'd be ) looking down at Szordrin, he holding his wicked guisarme and Szor with the scythe. And Nasfar going "my spear's longer than yours" and Szor replying "yeah but my blade's bigger." And bingo that was it! I knew I just HAD to draw that image. It was too much fun. Sure it's only a joke type of image but it seemed a great tribute to Darrkest. She is awesome at "not for virgin ears" wit and thus I thought the wording would just be great! Surrrrreeeee...and for those innocents out there , the boys are just discussing their weapons yeah...that's it Thus the idea was born and I leapt upon it....
Or...sorta leapt. I sat and waited for a free moment amongst my mad rush of trying to do everything else at once and a cherry on top lately. Then lucky for me one of the gift arts that Darrkest recieved had a link in the descr (I forget which one) to one of her drawings of Szor that was like perfect....sure it was an older drawing but it was him in all his glory standing there nice and simple taking off his pants Good ref for his muscle tone and his face and whatnot. So I was all giddy happy and snagged the pic for reference. Still I feared actually attempting the drawing because I have a low self-confidence. And I knew trying to "cartoon" Nasfar was going to be a bitch. He's hard as hell to draw anyways. So that made me squirm and fidget. Yet sometimes I get these random spurts of courage...or bravado methinks is more likely..and I just sit and attempt to draw ...having at the paper to see what turns out. I worried since I didn't have proper pose references but enough repeating "it's just a joke pic" over and over can help sometimes too. Sure ,I don't want to slack on a drawing entirely because the content is to be more humorous than realistic and awe-inspiring but hey.....anything to give myself the extra oompf of a push to start in on a drawing. And then I'm sitting there gesture drawing and whatnot and start to flesh em out and Nasfar starts to look half-way decent so I try Szor and he looks all cutesy....I think it's helpless. Let's face it he's going to look more "fair" compared to Nasfar. Most anyone would. When you've got sunken, tiny eyes, horns, raggedy hair, scales, and sharp teeth, claws, and spines growing out of your back it's not likely you're going to win a beauty contest anytime soon. Actually kinda liking what I turned out I went over it in pen leaving all the scrawled lines everywhere...seriously this pic was a royal mess of haphazard lines and blackness from smudging O.O When done it looked pretty cute and I decided it was a done deal for now. Scanned it and finally set to work starting to color it lastnight. And wouldn't you know it that I finish them both (cept their pants) and get their weapons just done with the flat colors and bango me compy has to go and fritz and freeze on me!? And I'm sitting here pouting and feeling like that squirrel in the commercials for OverTheHedge going "But I like a cookie" only I'm pawing at my screen where it says "RESTART" going "but I like my picture!" So I went back on the comp before coming online tonight sat down and finished it up. muahahahahahahah!!! And sure it's still kinda cartoony but that type of coloring style just seems to fit the setting...and hellsfire if I'm going to try to paint Nasfar in detail on this thing @.@ If you want to, go for it *snorts* I ain't gonna.....least certainly not ANY time soon!

And thus yeah...that's pretty much the history of the image lol. And also a history as to why I shouldn't be allowed to think things up at 4 am while trying to fall asleep. And with this whacky arse novel of a description I think I'm also somewhat attempting to pay tribute to Darrkest for her crazy out of the blue statements that I love so uber much heheheh...... And thus my story comes to an end. Enjoy the piccy and the humor of it. Hope ya like it Darrkest! ~FIN!~
