Description
There are actually several ways to solve it, but the one Steven's using, called "CFOP", is the best-known and the one I use.Related content

Aw. This one made me laugh! I don't know why, but your art has this perspective that is very powerful. That is an awesome power to have.

Like, physical perspective in terms of angle?

Huh. Well, I mostly draw characters from a pretty normal 3/4 view. You might be thinking of how I tend to crop the picture after I've got the characters' positions right so I can have them pretty much in the center. Thanks, though!

a wonderful show and a wonderful artwork of it the characters expression give a dynamic feeling to this artwork and the BG expresses clearly a day of summer
the characters personality can be easily noticed and the contrast of personality between the cheerful and kind one and the the other which is quite untrusting is amazing brought in the front
the game they are playing shows they are having lots of fun in a lovely day
true friendship can be seen in the cheerful character
one thing to work on is the body proportions of the characters
that seems a bit off other than that it's a really sweet artwork
I like the feeling of happiness in the pic a lot

Hello, Polymer. I'm Kevin 'The Skull' Anderson from and I would like to give you some constructive criticism on this piece by telling you what I like most, what I like least, and what you can do to improve in the future and how.
First of all, I like how you outlined this picture, and I also like the pose choices and color. However, two things that I don't like as much is the way you colored in the sea and parts of the sky, as well as Steven's hair color, which I think should be a slightly lighter brown. The use of shadow is great, but it can use a little bit more practice, so I definitely recommend you continue to try different shadow placement techniques if you can. I also notice that the colors could use a little bit of an extra shade of hue here and there in some spots, so I suggest you practice as much as you can on that as well whenever you have time.
With that said, I think you did a great job on this, so as long as you continue to mature as an artist and take this bit of criticism with a grain of salt things should most certainly go your way. And thank you in advance for allowing me to observe this picture closely. It means a lot to me!

Thanks, but re: shadows, where do you think I should've shaded where I didn't, or vice versa?

Well, I think you could have cast a shadow beside the characters, but at the same time the shadows are slightly taller and stretch beyond the height of the characters, but that's how I would have done it. Other than that I still think this is a great picture.

The light angle was supposed to be slightly in front of them, meaning the shadows wouldn't really be to either side, but now that you mention it, yeah, Peridot's diamond head should maybe make a little more of one on either side of her body. Oh, well, next time.

But on a related note, this is still a good picture with lots of face value to it.

Oh, lol. I meant Peridot's claim that it's more logical just to break the cube apart rather than bother to learn the algorithms.
