Well, I guess I can give a lil' spoiler or two. So, my OC is a draconequss has a few friends it's all jim dandy. Then a bunch of crud happens, natural enemies become friends , war BLAH BLAH BLAHDY BLAH. And, this GLORIOUS picture is kinda the outcome. It's still in the rough draft stages, and the first part to many is nearly completed, it might hit Fimfiction soon.

Hmm... Perhaps this is an aftermath of one of those mech battles. Massively tough opponent(s). I can see Twilight, AJ and rainbow being the primary assault types while Pinkie, Rarity and Flutters provided support. Thus their slightly less damaged states. As for Twi's eye, I'd say a console blew out. Hot shrapnel can cause some damage. I'd guess Rainbow's a little more out of commission because she took the brunt of the punishment. Probably because she'd use a melee mech. I'm sure I'll come up with more ideas but that's what I have off the top of my head.

Reading over the other comments, I think Combining the pony mech and dragon attack stories would do it. They have too many cuts and lacerations for it to be solely dragon damage. In addition the dragon would have to be much larger then their mechs. I wonder, how would you feel about my creating an audio to illustrate the battle before hoof? I've plenty of ideas for the actual battle and voice acting is no problem.

In the original specs for the picture, I was imagining the aftermath of battling a rampaging dragon. But I've left it deliberately open for people to interpret in their own way

If I was to add some sort of head-canon, I would say that a giant beast-like monster from Tatarus returned to Equestria to wreak havoc.

Really good quiet scene. Pinkie just wants to nom on her cake while Rarity is looking at someone (maybe a more rugged Spike who's offscreen?). Twilight looks relieved to just be alive with ehr friends. Fluttershy the same. Rainbow looks like she might have been truamtized and AJ's comforting her.
Must have been one heck of a battle.
