Description
This was painted on site at Ruby Gap, east of Alice Springs in Central Australia. The waterhole was clear and deep and contrasted strongly to the stark dry environment around it. I found a small patch of shade under a sapling river gum and painted to my heart's content.Acrylic on canvas 40cm x 22cm

10 years ago I visited that region and drove a 4x4 through a desolate landscape. Your painting brings back memories of a warm and joyful holiday!

Lovely. I am always amazed at the colors of the stuff underwater when the surrounding rocks are this red. I commend you, I can almost sense the heat of the day.
