It much looks like a price to be paid in exchange for any privilege gained. The skeleton being the guardian and debt collector, always watching and counting down the time. And thus they sit together, new princess and entity as old as the time itself, settlement has been done and all is fine. And the price? Those spider lilies do not blossom without a reason but the longer the price is out of sight the less it stings the heart.
