Can this comic get any darker? Yes. Yes it can. (At first I thought about putting a mature filter on this comic but then I realized that I've seen far worse things on Deviantart without a filter.)I should've drawn this better but White Diamond shapeshifts herself to match her Pearl's height and the reason for this will be shown in part 6. Why her gemstone is smaller is because she's a gem matriarch, she can do whatever she wants. (And the crewniverse has already made some continuity errors before.) As for Pink Pearl, she just lost her diamond and she is in an immense amount of pain. Pink Pearl doesn't know what to think right now, so she's goin' a little crazy.
