I'm not going to say it openly, but on the third picture White Diamond did something awful to White Pearl. White Diamond took something from her she can never get back. Sorry it had to end on a sad note, but that is how Steven Universe is. It hits you hard right in the feels.

Pink Pearl, now White, is such a tragic case, and I feel so bad for the poor thing. I'm not sure how similar her canon story is, but either way it's definitely not a happy tale. I really hope she can make it out okay in the end.

-Pearl feels her cherished memories stripped away, ripped out of her mind before she can save them.
"No. Stop please!"
W.D.: No, you're not Pink Pearl anymore
-Who she is... Her ambitions, Her dreams, Her personality, Her name, all of that junk is tossed out.
"...Please..."
-Pearl's mind is just fragments, bits and pieces that couldn't even form a single thought. "Homeworld... Gem.... Pearl..." There's not enough there to remember anything of the Pink Pearl she used to be. Just cold... numb... she doesn't even have enough cognitive thought to move her limbs. By the time White Diamond picks her up, she's an empty shell. She's ready to be reset. She raises her fingers to touch Pearl's forehead. On contact, she infiltrates her mind, erasing anything that's left. Oblivion. The very essence of Pink Pearl no longer exists, and a new soul takes the body's place... not like there was anyone home.
