Like Diamond, like Pearl.
I've noticed that Blue and Yellow Pearl act like their Diamonds so I assumed Pink Pearl did too. In my canon she was the original rebel pearl whom defied what it meant to be a pearl. Her actions prior to being possessed by White Diamond influenced Crystal Gem Pearl to be her own gem later down the line.

It's the gem placements on her and Crystal Gem Pearl. And the idea seems interesting.

Well everyone thought the idea of Rose Quartz being Pink Diamond was ridiculous. It was the most rejected theory in the fandom. But when going back and looking at how powerful she was for an "average gem", it makes sense. So perhaps people are not overlooking any theories at this point.
