Crona's gender was never established in the anime or the manga. So its up to the viewer's imagination.

True, but they use the pronounce they/them though, not she/her.

Yeah. The Japanese language doesn't have that problem, as you can refer to one without specifying gender. However, with English, it gets confusing, since a person has to be one or the other. So that's why some sources use "he" while others use "she".
There's countless claims on both sides of the issue, but until Okubo officially announces it, Crona's gender shall always be a mystery.
Maybe that was his intention: give fans of all sorts fantasies, lol.

No, people don't have to be "one or the other", you're thinking of sex. Sex and gender are different. You are born male or female, that is your sex. You can choose to be a different gender, multiple genders or genderless, that is who you are. There is an very popular game, Undertale, which has non binary characters, Chara and Frisk, the two humans. Their genders are never established, neither is their sex. This is a very good example of people not being "one or the other."

Dude, I think you misunderstood. I understand the debate about gender and sex, so I'll try to be clear on this.
Let me explain. In the original Japanese, whenever they referred to Crona, they did not use the Japanese terms for he/him or she/her, but rather genderless ones like "boku" (mostly boys, but can be used for girls) or "sore" (It). They never once used a specific pronoun for Crona's sex. Even Medusa never used "son" or "daughter", but rather called Crona "her child".
However, English does not have the same pronouns as Japanese, the closest translation we would get for referring for Crona is "It". Yen Press felt this was akward and insulting and thus decided to use male pronouns to refer to Crona, but this does not cement Crona's sex.
But like I said, never once in the actual manga was Crona's sex ever mentioned. Even the creator, Atushi Okubo, says that Crona's sex is unknown. I'm not talking about gender indentity here, but rather the actual sex. Like most people, I was using the two terms interchangably, which may have gotten you confused. But for your sake, I used the terms as you see them. I apologize for the confusion.
