Before any drama hits just because of gender talk, I'll be quick and to the point.
Anime dub stated Crona was a male
The original creator and the subtitles/manga never gave him a 'born male' or 'born female' title. However the creator of the manga has gone on record saying he wanted Crona to not have a gender. So in a sense yes 'Androgynous' counts, most headcanon Crona as Agender or nonbinary.

My official English manga copy of when Crona is introduced clearly states that he's male. So technically someone at Yen Press must have gotten a tip or they wouldn't have put that in there so many times. Also, if most people wanted him as male then English translators often listen to fan's wants even though they aren't totally canon. Hope this makes sense!

English translations make Crona a male because of gender roles and feeling like they had to give him a gender. It's fine to imagine him male, just don't completely turn a blind eye to the fact that the original creator made him genderless or something other than male or female.
