Description
This is a commission for Stephanie of her characters Haize and Caeruleus~ from AX. Don't shoot meee~ I'm still working on commissions!! *dies**cough*
Anyways~ the reason why I named this piece discovery...other than the fact that I can't think of a creative title to save my life, is because i really did learn something new while drawing this. I actually picked it up from what *tobiee and =Orenji-kun were doing, which is basically doing an undersketch in a different color, and then doing the final sketch in pencil.
I guess you could say this is a different approach to the more traditional sketching in pencil and doing the final drawing in ink... But I will always be looser with a pencil~ And in this case, looser is better, because I feel like the sketch turned out 110% better than it would have without an undersketch.
...Has anyone else ever picked up a tip like this and had a sudden epiphany about it?

well, personally, i don't like the undersketch in a different color since i find it hard to shade (and cover up the undersketch, i sketch messy haha) but i do use it when inking. *ugh* this is really nice btw

Heh, yeah. I had an epiphany that my art would NEVER look like this and I should just stick to photo editing...The piece is well done though.

Epiphanies are funnily ironic, sometimes I wonder why I spent so much time doing things the hard way.

i am beyond blown away by your artwork. your style is incredibly unique, and every picture has such an immense and appealing amount of detail. i was going to say i love how you draw their eyes and lips and hair...but then i'd have to go into how i love how you draw everything else @_@ it's all so good!

You know also that you can get rid of the undersketch by putting the image in photoshop 7 turning off all the channels except the red one

ah so pretty i love their hair ... hehe a school when im doodling away i always use yellow pencils, because you can always draw over them ...but i practically never get around to doing that

are you saying that you've been drawing from scratch all along up until recently???? O_O;; wowoow, I mean, if you're this good without the under sketch, adding that will improve your skill as an artist by like.....500%!!! I myself am too lazy to swtich mediums, so i do both my under sketch and final drawing with the same medium. ;-; however, if i am doing something important like for school, or a commish (if i ever get one) i'd do the pencil then ink. <333 i think the red kinda has a cool affect to your characters!
