So do you just do this with all of the pieces of outer armor and leave most of the smaller details (wires and interior pistons and stuff) blank?

I like to use the layer called "vivid light" as it has the same properties of the overlay but the bright tones become more colourful

How do you get that shimmer on the final image? is it a texture overlay or do you have a brush for that?

useful. How do you colour it? Using the colour/overlay in another layer or directly applying colour?
