Description
This design interested me because of it's TOS look. As some of you know, created a TOS version of USS Avenger NCC-1810. I looked and studied the design in much closer detail to get a better understanding and I suddenly created my own modified version of it. I've even did a size comparison of their ship to a regular Constitution-class and discovered that it's slightly smaller than I thought it was. But all credit goes to these guys for their excellent work on the original. This version is somewhat different. Some features I added and removed created what, in a sense, a slightly different ship altogether. So here's my own version. The Spartan-class Assault cruiser.

In an alternate 2260's, the United Federation of Planets and its surrounding neighbors were besieged by an all new threat never before encountered. A dangerous bio-mechanical race called 'the Swarm'. A highly advance hive-like living machines ruled by a eusocial caste system of queens, soldiers, workers, etc. This dangerous race has invaded the galaxy and seeks to dominate other races and planets for their own purposes. In response, Starfleet needed new ships and technologies to combat the Swarm. Out of a top secret program to upgrade Starfleet's defenses, known as Project Titan, came about the Spartan-class Assault cruiser. Starfleet's and Project Titan's first starship designed to combat the Swarm. As the first ever Starfleet ship built as a direct response to the Swarm's threat, it was built with advance armor, shielding, weapons, high speed maneuvering, and a complex artificial intelligence. Currently, own six Spartan-class ships are in operation or still going through trials. But this is Starfleet's first step towards defending the Federation and its allies against this new and dangerous that is that Swarm.
