I'd considered including a fastener when creating the boots, but I wanted them to remain on-model.
You could probably fake a zipper with a texture, bump, and specular map.

hehe, thats because its a picture and not a rendered scene.
I emailed the company and asked for permission to use some of their photos as background for my renders.
I havn't got an answer yet, but I hope they're fine with it.

This is why I love 3D... you can get massively huge images with great quality and all it really takes is giant textures and a lot of time.
