Description

HELLO! People of all KINDS! Holy crap! This is it! The world map for my current Paper Mario fangame: The Metora Kingdom! That's right! The map of Metora itself! And this is, believe it or not, THE 4TH TIME I HAVE HAD TO MAKE THIS FREAKING WORLD MAP! Due to how many frreakin' phases this game has gone through XD

Anyway, here's the key:

In the centre of the Metora is Anchor Valley, Chapter 5's location which once was a flourishing field, but now a ruined and forsaken wasteland. It once contained Gorah City and still contains The Asterock Chamber.

Centre-South is the main hub town, AuroraPort, a small, peaceful seatown which connects a lot of the other chapter locations.

East of Anchor Valley is Chapter 1's location: Stardust Woods, which contains Hubble Hamlet and the Thorn Fortress.

Further East from there is Chapter 4's location, Force-Strike Valley which is inside a permanent storm. Contains the Lost Current and the Energy Plant.

South of there or West of AuroraPort is Gamma Plains which contains the Military "NMA HQ".

Chapter 3's location is West of Anchor Valley, the oriental themed Nadiri Mountains, which contains Hana Koshi, Kargu's Temple, Yurao's Temple, Raiy's Temple, and The Knowmi.

Further west is the location of Chapter 2, the Sparkling Sands, where the sand is actually a shinning silver. Contains Glimmer City, Merlot City Ruins and the Airship Wreck.

North of Anchor Valley is the Starflake Pinnacles and Chapter 6's location, where military areas have been setup by the Yeast Kingdom. Contains Moonflake Plateau, Chill-Outpost, Pulsar Stronghold, Sunflake Peak and Starflake Summit.

West of the Starflake Pinnacles is the location of Chapter 7, Heaven Haven, a grand city in the sky itself! Contains Sky Sanctuary.

East of the Starflake Pinnacles is Lake Plasmarha for Chapter 8, a lake of Plasma. Contains the Plasma Temple and Bowser's Plasma Castle.

Finally, above the Starflake Pinnacles is Gorah City itself, for Chapter 9, above the clouds and... in space? Contains Galactic Passage, Gorah Palace and the other half of the Asterock Chamber...

That's all folks! The map is a little darker than I'd like it to be, but I do think it really reflects the dark atmosphere of the game

Like I said for another Paper Mario map cjm-collexionz.deviantart.com/…, the only real word I find for this : "WO-AH !"
This cannot really be a eighth of A4.

I very especially love the heavenly hole thing, just around Gorah City, a very mighty feel raises from this part, a true finale area.
About it I don't remember this detail, does Gorah returns at Anchor Valley at end ?

Haha thanks! No that's just for the location pics; I usually do maps on a 4th of A4, but this time, for the sake of detail and scale, I did half an A piece of paper (I never could have made this on an 8th of A4 XD)

Yep, one of the biggest problems was sorting out the separation between the areas that take place at day, night or in... space And yes, it does return to the valley

Don't worry about, the result is impressive.
The very only detail I find slightly disturbing is the horizon distortion due to Lake Plasmarha, if you understand what I mean by it.

Anyway I cannot wait to read next chapters.
All the more so this four temples thing are slightly puzzling me and seams very interesting, I wonder what role will they really play ?

Disturbing Horizon? ...no, I'm afraid I don't know quite what you mean by that

Hehe, it is taking a little longer than previous chapters, since it's a different plot this time. I jut got to sort out the character designs and stuff and then I can probably make a start As for them temples, well... try looking up some Shinto gods... the names of the temples will probably cause you find some elemental gods...

It's just that the horizon line doesn't seam be at same levels on each side of Starflake Pinnacles's frozen mountain ranges.
Or it's just I doesn't understand the topography of this part of the map.

And about the gods, I found this ones :
- "Kagu"tsuchi, divinity of Fire
- "Raij"in, divinity of Lightnings
I don't find for Yurao's Temple, despite having try almost all the orthographic variants.

Ah, you mean it looks uneven? well, it's because I had to make space for Heaven Haven on the left side, but on the right, I didn't need to worry about any areas in the sky, so I could just use Plasmarha Lake to fill it in more If that's what you meant?

Haha, you got those 2 right!
I guess I might as well just say that "Yurao" is based off of "Kurao"kami", divinity of snow and rain

That's just it, it is't important, even so I find it a little disturbing.
Fire, Rain, Snow, Lightnings... I wonder where all this will lead us, surely to the Knowmi...
