Description
This is free for anybody to use. Big thanks to everyone that has added it to their favourites!How to use this action:
There is a file included that says how the action should be used, but it isn't completely correct, so here is the full how-to.
- Open an image in Photoshop
- Run Part 1 of the action
- Select a sharpness that you think looks good
- Click on the layer mask on the layer between the Levels layer and the Brightness/Contrast layer (if you have opened an image straight into Photoshop this should be called Layer 1)
- Select a black round brush big enough to cover all of the image but the corners at around 20% opacity
- Click on the centre of the image. Repeat until you are happy with the saturation
- Click on the very top layer
- Press cmd+alt+shift+e (Mac) or ctrl+alt+shift+e (PC)
- Rename the layer 'Layer 7'
- Run part two of the action
- Done

I took what CowboyFromHull mentioned and did the following. Created a layer, Called it Layer 2, then selected the original background layer and recorded a new action, Option clicked Layer 2 (which will select Layer 2 without making active same as the step in the script that fails and stop recording. I then drag and dropped it into the action and removed the select Layer 7 step.
I also drug all of Part 2 into Part 1 as I didn't see the need for 2 parts to it.

I just tested your action...just gorgeous, thank you so very much As a very green newbie to PSE 9, I am a bit confused. I thought that action photos is all png's. yet your is jpg's???? The photo for the action doesn't show in PSE 9, however it works perfectly. Have I done something wrong when I copied and pasting the files?

Not sure if anybody else has had my issue but on cs6 if it wont continue on part two because it cant find layer 7, I have been clicking twice on the currently selected layer and then changing the top layer (layer2 i think its called) to layer 7 before playing part two and it seems to be ok. nice action

Hi!!!! I have some problem with this action! I tried with the same photo you posted, but my result isn't like yours...in mine there is more light than yours...the black isn't so strong!

Hi unless I forgot to put it on there should be a 'Using this Action' image on there that should get you the same result. Let me know if it still doesn't work.

I can use it, but at the action #2 it says "layer 7" can't be found.

Rename the very top layer "layer 7" and try it again. If it still doesn't work I'll have a look at it.
