Description Van Saun Park - 06/14/2003

I really don't see too many zoos that have Ocelots, and of those that do, only one has them outdoors. Usually, they are in tiny enclosures inside somewhere. But there's something about natural lighting that makes them look so much nicer.

To get this picture, I had to go around the back side of the enclosure and push my way through some bushes. Otherwise, I would have only gotten a nice picture of his rump. But I'm glad that I did this, as I really like how cute this one came out.

That's cool.  Thanks.

And sorry for the slow reply, but I was away for a week and then too busy upon return to check DA for several more days.

Ocelots are beautiful animals, and this is a really sweet shot.

Hehe. Thanks.

Yeah, there's just something about felines, no matter how big or small, that still sets them aside as distinctively feline. Sleeping with a cute expression on their faces is certainly one of them.

*smiles* Awww... thank you. It really makes me feel good when I hear that someone enjoys my pictures. While not everything I take is cute, I do find animals to simply be beautiful creatures, and what better way to portray them for others to see, than in a positive, cute, pose?

You're welcome! Animals, like humans, can be cute and nasty ( as in mean, but regular nasty works as well. ).

I just love your photography.

Thanks. I'm glad you liked the shot. It was well worth the effort to take. Sometimes, there is something positive to say about a hot afternoon at the zoo, when the animals seem to want to just sleep.

*chuckles* Thanks. Yeah. I'm all for the whole 'staying on the path' and such. But sometimes, you have to step off the path to see life from a different angle.

*smiles* It's a nice picture to look at when it's the middle of winter. It helps to remind you that relaxing, summer days are still ahead.

Heh. Don't worry about the Caps. Such things never bother me and it makes it seem like you're really excited about the pic... which is a good thing.

Thanks for the FAV on it. I'm glad you liked it.

That's a great shot, especially with that one ear to the side and the other facing the front, hehe! So cute.

*laughs* Yeah, I didn't get a good look at him before I made my way through the brush, so it's quite possible that the one ear turned forwards from the noise I was making. It did make for a cute pic though.

*laughs* Well, I guess when you're a predator with such a relatively small head (as compared to big cats or canines), you need to have a big nose to make up for it.

I'm just wondering how comfortable that can be. The branch on the right looks a bit spikey to me.
