Description
Kogel Bay, South AfricaThe 20 second exposure was made possible by the 9 stop ND400 filter, with a 3 stop grad on top of it.
* Since this is one of my favourite shots from this location, I decided to redo the processing. Back then I was a bit heavy handed with the sats and contrast. I think we all are in the beginning

Wonderful, like all your works. Btw what's the 9 stop/3 stops grad thing?

A 9 stop ND filter is basically just a piece of glass in front of the lens that makes everything 2^9 (thus 512) times darker. Thus in light where a 1 second shutter speed would have exposed a photograph correctly, a 512 second shot is needed if the filter is used. The 3 stop grad just darkens half of the shot (the sky in this case) by 3 stops (8 times). Thanks for looking
