I have the same issue. it sucks trying to burn calories fast but also resist the urge to eat your favorite foods.

You can do both, actually. Intermittent fasting. Just limit your eating to an 8, 6, or 4 hour window and consume two meals calorically comparable to what you'd normally eat in three. It's better for your digestion, better for your sugar levels, and you can have (within reason) whatever you want. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_kEmY…

If your muscles aren't showing, that means your body fat percentage is too high. What you need to do is put your body in ketosis by eating less than 20 grams of carbs a day and eating a diet constituting of meat, and leafy, green vegetables. It should be composed 70% of natural fat from butter, cream, olive oil, coconut oil, etc. Do that, plus basic calisthenic with increased weight-lifting, while drinking 8 purified glasses of water a day or so, and, in about three months, if you commit to the lifestyle change, you'll lose (probably) up to 30-50 lbs. I did.

I am a person of simple ways, and obviously I don't know much about fitness, body building etc. but I still thought that when your primary goal is to lose weight, and mainly get rid of all that excess fat, you should do more aerobic exercises (jogg/run, dance, body combat, swim...) Sure you should do some strength exercises, too, but when focusing on losing all that extra fat, do more aerobic. Once you've reached near your desired fat level, start toning your muscles, which means more strength exercises and less aerobic.

I just want to keep things simple. I'm not the kind of person to calculate the amount of foods I consume. As long as I know what is healthy, which foods you shouldn't consume awfully much, and when you keep yourself feeling comfortably full and content, that's all enough to me. Sure I'm not anywhere near like fitness or body building model, but looking at the mirror I look completely average. Nothing special, but healthy.

Muscle consumes fat. You should job, yeah, but, no: you don't need to be aerobic exercise. I didn't.

Fair enough. Then try this: start eating one or two meals a day comparable to three, within an 8 hour window. Super simple. Just try it for a week, you'll notice a huge difference (trust me on this).

Maybe I will. It won't hurt to try, if it's only for a week.
Thanks!

Just remember: eat one or two meals comparable to what you would eat in three, okay? And do so within an 8 hour window. This will feel weird for the first couple of days; because your body will produce lecterin---the hangry chemical---to make you comply to what it's used to, but don't listen to your gut, m'kay? Listen to your brain. I mean this: your stomach is going to whine like Cartman, 'I'M HUNGRAY!', and your brain is just going to have to shoot back, 'Yeah, but are we tired?' 'No.' 'Then SHUT UP!' Humans are designed to "feast", to gorge, as much as we are to "fast", to go days without food. But you're not starving yourself (buhlieve me!). You are giving yourself calorically what you need, just in a way that allows you to burn fat: for 16 hours a day, most of which will be while you're sleeping. Your body and mind will thank you. I promise you will feel and see mind blowing results if you just this one simple thing alone.

To be fair, Sumo wrestlers have a ton f muscle as well. The point is to be heavy enough to not be moved while at the same time be strong enough to push a similarly immovable opponent. Muscle weighs more than fat, but they aren't show-muscles like bodybuilders. They are using legitimately sustainable muscles and their diets are very specific to ensure a good balance of size and strength alike. You'd be surprised by the amount of training that they go through. Sumo wrestler training is a full-time job on its own! Turns out that being called a sumo wrestler SHOULD be a compliment to dedication and perseverance, not an insult to someone's weight! After all, they are well-respected in Japanese culture for good reason.

Sorry if this isn't very relevant, but I just thought you might find it interesting. A lot of people mistake the hard work they go through for for just being fat. I believe in credit where credit is due.

Sorry if that seemed a bit presumptuous. I really was just spouting fun-facts, not implying you were wrong about anything. If you already knew that stuff, then at least it's there in the comments in case someone else happened to not know and read it. Spreading knowledge is a good, constructive way to spend time since I have pretty much nothing better to do! *cue The More You Know clip* XD

Exercise actually makes you eat more. So if you don't know how to do that properly it does make things worse.
I'll tell you what's working for me and its easy to follow. It may be of help for you too.

First of all, calculate your current intake of daily calories. There are many websites out there where you put your age, height and current weight and tell you how much is your current daily calorie intake. So to lose weight you need to eat less than that.

From there you need to eat every 3 hours. May be 5 or 6 times a day depending how many hours you are awake. And no, you do not wake up in the middle of the night to eat. So you need to divide your new (slightly lower) daily intake almost equally among these 5-6 meals. These may seem small but they will keep you without hunger for 3  hours. You will see that the hunger bell will ring every 3 hours so you got to have planned what you will eat. Also you do not need to prepare any special foods, just eat what you would usually cook. Of course the healthier the better, but if you go for long time with only steam vegetables you will start seeing everyone like a walking roast chicken. ^^

An easy trick to calculate how much calories each meal has, is to say 200grams is about 300 calories if it doesn't contain meat and 400 calories if it does. Even this rough estimate is good enough and you wont go paranoid calculating each ingredient calories separately.

So why 3 hours, what's the trick there? When we digest food our metabolism increases, so during this time you burn extra calories by doing nothing other than digesting your previous meal. Now if you kickstart your engine every 3 hours, you burn more even if you were to eat the same amount you would normally eat. So yes, it's a cheat. If you can couple that with a walk/bike/mild_cardio for 45 minutes you will have even more benefit. It is not necessary but it is advisable for everyone who spends many hours on their PC.

So the above is nothing new. But it does work, you just need to make it a habit. I hope it helps you and everyone who took the time to read it.
