At first glance, Kamon appears rather cold and distant. When she first meets someone, whether they are a patient or casual acquaintance, she prefers to keep her distance and stay quiet and reserved until she is approached directly. This trait stems from her profession - her ‘healer mode’ requires she remain distant from patients to accurately judge what is best for their health, without any personal feelings cloud her judgement.
This means most of her patients and neighbors view her as rather callous - especially when she snaps at them for rejecting or not following her medical advice. This is a rather inaccurate assessment - She has spent many decades struggling with dividing her professional life and personal feelings, and when she does get snippy, it is out of frustration that “they don’t seem to care about themselves as much as I do”. Most people have been more sympathetic to her attitude since the death of her husband.
The few people she is close to, however, know a very different Kamon than the front she puts on in public- none more than her granddaughter, Chryssanthi, whom she spoils and dotes on senselessly. There is no problem too small for Kamon when it comes to her granddaughter - anything the girl needs or wants, Kamon does her best to accommodate for. The same goes for her other family members - if any of her children needed something or were in trouble, she would swoop in to care for and vouch for them.
Among her family she opens up greatly, always willing to comfort and care for family, finding joy in novels and music. She and her granddaughter are often caught singing to each other over the kitchen stove (though this ceases as soon as the two are caught in the act). Occasionally one might have found her and her youngest son in friendly debate over a novel the two have shared, or other topic of which she cares deeply for.
For all this warmth, Kamon is still very rigid in her life. Centuries of living in a very stable, unchanging lifestyle have left her unprepared for the change sweeping Alva. Part of the reason she becomes easily frustrated is she has a hard time seeing things from other points of view, once she has made a decision. With much about the world suddenly changing, she is very unsure of where her life will lead from here, and is having difficulty adjusting to the change in Nisalvini. To remedy this, she has begun to travel once more, and as a side effect, make friends along the way.

History:
Born to a pair of respectable innkeepers, Kamon was the first in several generations of her family to show any real magical prowess. This natural talent caused her parents to enroll her in one of Estraude’s many healing institutions. She quickly found her talents more suited to an acolyte’s path than many of her shamanistic classmates.
After her schooling, Kamon found a rather peaceful life as a healer eventually became too peaceful, and she elected to further her skills and experience through travel. Eventually, this lead her to Nisalvini, where she met a fellow healer and her future husband, a light elf named Loukas Iordanou. When she left Nisalvini, he followed, and the two married and settled back in Estraude, when Kamon turned 160. They spent another 40 years in Estraude raising two children, before returning to Nisalvini to care for an ailing mother in law. There, they had another three children and settled in permanently, and she used her more basic knowledge of plants in combination with the strange and powerful plants of Nisalvini to open an Apothecary.
While initially uncomfortable with such a distance between her and her homeland, the last two centuries in Nisalvini have shifted her allegiances, and this was only solidified when two of her children enlisted in the Miras Royal Military (though their choice was much to her dismay). Her youngest child followed her path of becoming a healer. Her and her husband became well-respected healers in Nisalvini, as Cleric and Exorcist respectively.
It was this healing prowess that lead them both to remain in Nisalvini when the Ash Fever took hold of the remaining populace. They both combatted the fever as best they could (and befriended a young fellow healer, Atticus Leland), but Loukas’ age, light elf heritage, and means of healing left him more vulnerable, and he died during the outbreak, at the age of 358. She fell ill as well, though the severity was less intense than her husband. Even after the plague had passed, Kamon remained shaken by her husband’s sudden demise. With most of her children and grandchildren having left Nisalvini, whether to avoid the plague and settling elsewhere or back in Estraude, Kamon no longer felt tied to the island, and left once more to travel and aid others where she can.
This eventually led her to join the second Leywood Expedition, at the request of Atticus. She was initially wary of wandering into the realm of the Ley Elk. The events that occured in the Leywood have shaken her religious beliefs as well - though she was raised with a strong belief of the gods, it had faded in importance over time. The death of Tharoneos certainly changed that.
When it died, Kamon was transported back to her old home in Nisalvini, and has since remained there, trying to reconcile all the change that has occured to her in recent years. The sudden changes in Nisalvini’s flora have been keeping her occupied, as she attempts to assist her youngest son with running the Apothecary once more, and caring for her ill granddaughter, Chryssanthi.
