Description
This is the second in what may or may not turn into a series of MARDEK character portrait things!1I'm not particularly satisfied with it, since it doesn't reflect my original vision (which looked stupid; it involved the wolf head being more helmet-like and stylised and arranged so that it was over the top of his face rather than to the side), and there are a bunch of FLAWS with it that I won't go into because they're either obvious or won't be noticed!1
Also, drawing faces in portrait is something I'm not particularly familiar with! Wolves, too, apparently.

lone wolf is so cool and so is his alter ego (who i won't say cause this isn't a spoiler) he is one of my favorite characters in MARDEK

like some of the people say as well, i think your too hard on yourself too. its beautiful! the lines do not need to be perfect to get the feeling of the picture through. it caught my eye as soon as i looked at my messages XD. dont worry about it too much

I've always liked Deugan's character. A brave man, with the slightly mysterious aspect.

This will probably result in me calling you a nitpicker for some reason, but I really do think this is an amazing drawing you've made, and you are, yet again, being too harsh on yourself. It may not be the result that you hoped it would be, but the actual result is something I wouldn't want to miss for the world.
There are some awkward kinks in the picture, such as Deugan's throat, but they are things normal people (normal here meaning "people who don't stare at a picture for five minutes to find any flaws they can exploit") would not notice on such glances. You're doing a really great job overall, and finding an art style you're comfortable with. I find that admirable.
The thing I like the most about this picture is that the wolf seems to reflect Deugan's soul in a very interesting fashion. I wonder how the souls of the other MARDEK characters would express themselves.

Deugan may actually be my favourite character in MARDEK, and I think you've done a really nice job with him here, it's similar to what I thought he should look like! (though that shouldn't really matter to you o.O) I find it interesting that you've not put in your list of the flaws you think your artwork may or may not have, and I feel like it's better for me to view it this way, and I'm able to appreciate your work more like this. Good job Pseudolonewolf!

Hmm, maybe I should stop listing the problems that I see then... I mainly do it so then people don't point them out, but maybe I should wait until they have been pointed out before I say "yes, I know", or something!

I love the way you used purple-blue colors on his skin, and I just adore your painting style, too. I don't see much wrong with it, it's just a specific style to me ouo. I hope you experiment some more with it!!

Using purples in skin is something I've been doing a lot recently and I LOVE IT LIKE MY OWN CHILD. So it's nice that it's noticed!
I'm not satisfied with my painting style... but I wonder what artist *is* satisfied with their style! Probably everyone but me. Wah!!

NAW, everyone thinks they suck at some point. But that's what they believe because they think others do. I spose it's best to just think that we enjoy what we do and we'll get to where we want to soon enough!
I use a ton of colors that go well with each other when shading (:. For white I'd use the colors around it. I'm still having to practice colors that have the same depth, I suppose.

Well I'm not sure why, but seeing this rendition of Deugan has made me imagine a possible confrontation between him and Mardek/Rohoph in Chapter IV...
ROHOPH: "You have turned our allies against us!"
Deugan: "No. You did that yourself."
MARDEK: "YOU'RE NOT GONNA TAKE THEM AWAY FROM ME!!"
Deugan: "Mardek... You already did that, when you tried to take control of this world. You've changed, Mardek. You let this Rohoph twist your mind, and turn you into the kind of monster you once tried to slay!
MARDEK: "Well, shut up, Deugan!"
ROHOPH: "We can see through your lies."
MARDEK: "Yeah! I'm not afraid of the light like you!"
ROHOPH: "I have brought peace, order, and security to my new Empire!"
Deugan: "Your new EMPIRE?!"
ROHOPH: "Do not make me kill you."
Deugan: "My allegiance is to a world of justice, of love, and of valor."
ROHOPH: "...Then... If you're not with me, you are my enemy!"
Deugan: "Only Magi deal in absolutes. I will do what I have to do."
MARDEK: "Well, go ahead and TRY!!"

Awww, you did a great job on this. My only other worthwhile comment is that the wolf appears rather feminine, but then again, I'd say the same about Solaar.

i think your being to hard on yourself this is really well done, idk how you would do this but you said originally you said the wolf was going to be almost helmet like , i think it would be interesting if some how the wolf was shown as his soul kind of like a spirit animal. Anywho i love it! i can only see two things i don't like about it. 1. above the mans head the wolf continues on and it doesn't really look natural to me and 2nd the green scarf thing I'm too sure if its a shit or a scarf or what. either way i love it good job
