In regards to onw of my recent uploads, psyco-the-frog.deviantart.com/β¦ , this is another saying about Shadow that doesn't make any since, because Sonic games were always about being cool, way past cool, so how was this trying to hard, when most of the things in this game, was considered cool in.... anything else.EDIT:

Sonic games frequently suffer from trying too hard to be "cool" or with the times. At least this game's attempts were funny, other games they were just cringe worthy.

This is not even close to accurate unless you can tell me how the Rush games, Rivals, Riders, storybook games, and Unleashed were "Trying too hard to be cool", or else you think every other game was Shadow and 06. Plus this series was made to be cool and was popular because of it, so you'd be saying it suffered from it's own popularity.

I was thinking more about some of Sonicβs stupid lines in recent games, especially Colors.

Gotcha, most people say the same thing about the games before Colors, but this is straight up Sega trying to appeal to Nintards, Iakuza admitted this for both Colors and Lost World. Sonic was suppose to be cool, taking after the Ninja Turtles, what we're getting in these modern games is what killed several mascots that tried to be Sonic.

Not all those demands are from fans though. Sonic never wanted childish shit, kids never even asked for it. Most of these people demanding and praising the new shit are nintards who came into our fanbase thinking they own the shit, and it happened due to all of Sega of Japans incompetence and fucking up the company before then. Too often is everyone mistaken as "the fanbase" when after years of arguing, too many people proved me right, they never liked what Sonic was about and when you argue with them, they cry, say "it's their opinion", or discredit you by crying to other people.

I'd take this over candyland Sonic we have nowadays. Edgy or whatever people want to call it the one thing I liked about Shadow is that they had some interesting atmosphere instead of trying to be some typical mascot platformer with little substance and bright colors.

A number of those who hate Shadow most likely don't hate it simply for being dark, cool and edgy. Like you said, other Sonic titles are known for being the same way. They hate it because they moved on and found other series with similar subject matter (violence, swearing, blood, dark pasts, other cewl stuff), such as Doom, Devil May Cry, God of War, Warhammer 40k, Earthbound, Persona, Bayonetta, Mortal Kombat, Castlevania, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Fullmetal Alchemist, Samurai Jack season 5, or even other Sonic titles like the archie comics. All of these are loved by many for plenty of different reasons, but primarily because they're dark and edgy with SUBSTANCE. They have something to say, or get us excited, or present intriguing plot points and characters, or boast overwhelming polish, or just inspire us. The dark and edgy stuff never feel like they're just there as a pretentious or condescending marketing tactic.
If you remove the guns, dark atmosphere, swearing, and other stuff that's "cewl and dark" from something like Shadow's game, you're left with nothing but bad story pacing, tedious wangst, frustrating gameplay, and barely anything that inspires. Even if you want to argue that Shadow has some really "cewl" and "exciting" moments, others will say that any of the titles I mentioned do them miles better. Given that this game stained a series that HAS shown the power to inspire people, I think we have EVERY right to bash it or joke about it in retrospect

Β is way cooler than Shadow, Cole's games are loaded with cool powers while Shadow instead uses guns and only a few powersΒ

You mean Infamous is a better game then Shadow the Hedgehog, and it's actually a really good game. Cole himself is nowhere near as cool as Shadow but he's cool in his own right. Aside from using more powers though, that's really all Infamous has on Shadow.

Well, lemme fill you in on some info about this man.Β
He's 25-26, and is quite active on Discord, where he does about either one of 5 things:
1. Rants about how he can't be able to own all the exotic pets he wants because of Kentucky's exotic pet laws (and saying how he DESERVES them, as if he has ever done anything in his life to earn them).
2. Badgering people about research for his prehistoric life documentary ideas, especially me, because in his eyes, I'm the one and only resource of information about prehistory...
3. Ranting about Sonic (go figure).
4. Says that he wants to make a game centered around small animals that would "destroy Sonic", although nothing ever happens because he's too incompetent to do so.
5. Bitch and whine about the most mundane shit, like SNOW. FUCKING SNOW.
And also, he'd at some times constantly DM me on Discord, even when I was CLEARLY inactive, and would always say "Oh" if I told him to stop DMing me. Fortunately I've blocked him on Discord, and left the only server that I saw him on, but I haven't blocked him here, because I'm too lazy to do so
And there you have it, hopefully you have a better idea of how obnoxious this pathetic excuse of a man is...

Well I already know how obnoxious is, he's been spamming my account off and on for over a year, it was apparent by the first month. They usually only say that because they think that just because he's a an anthropomorphic hedgehog, he needs to have a cartoony personality like the Sonic and his friends. The sonic universe had always had a bland mix in their stories, that goes from being light-hearted to dark and serious, what's the problem with adding a character with a dark and serious personality? Honestly I don't think the people who asked for Shadow and Guns were the same people. The ones that asked for guns were a bunch of kids that sent letters to Izuka, the ones who asked for Shadow were the people who later on despised the game for having guns and cussing, and to this day treat "edge" as if it's some kind of cancer.

Tbh, Shadow although isn't my favorite character is a type who should be put in a serious storyline, not in a storyline like Generations and Boom. But the reason why Shadow's guns don't fit him is not because he looks ridiculous but they are completely unnecessary. He is a living weapon himself and he already has chaos powers so him having guns makes no sense. Same for motorcycles. He is faster than a motorcycle so Shadow having motorcycles is stupid.

I'm sorry but neccsicity doesn't o shouldn't dictate what a character can or should use. Of course he doesn't need them, it's about having more options regardless. Guns added ranged attacks, vehicles added armored transportation, needing them or not wasn't the point.

I never said keep the weapons weak. I said make them balanced. I don't get any enjoyment out of using weapons that are so powerful that they break the game. And I would be hard-pressed to find anybody that DOES enjoy that
