If yall ain't seen or heard this yet, the SA3 FB page admin had made a comment about Sonic Mania having no ambition, and of course people treat this statement as if it was an insult to their own mother or repeat sarcastically, yet anytime, as far as I've seen, that you seriously ask them to defend to point or give a reason to be hyped, they either getting crying or name off shit that doesn't prove the point. In this case I've seen people just say "it's like the classics" as if that makes it automatically good or excuse why it's criticized, but there are some other defenses that go nowhere, like all the merchandise and shit that has nothing to actually do with the game. Sorry but I can't help seeing this past being a ego stroking rehash bypeople who displays a lack of confidence in their product that recycles old content too often.Related content

Oh say, when Mario did something like this in their "New Super Mario Bros," they didn't go back to the old pixelated Mario but made him pseudo-3D? More Nintendrone hypocricy for ya, since Sonic 4 was no different, yet it gets bashed for being 3D graphics.

Something I find really funny is when people say Sonic mania is not a cash grab when it's the worst kind of cash grab.

It's also glitchy as fuck but it gets a free pass for being a carbon copy of the classics, at least 80% of it anyway.

And you can brake everything if you play as Tails, it's stupid how much of the game you can skip as him. Overall it is fun,but it's not the real Sonic 4, it is a cash grab, and other then the new zones, almost everything is from the old Sonic games, even in the new zones. This is just SEGA pleasing all of those fucking 90s kids and nothing else.

The bad guys are a bunch of recolors, the tone is far closer to Colors than the actual classics, the warping around the planet is mostly unjustified, hostile to instinct...

Also the game gets old real quick after you get the true ended, at least in forces they give you stuff to customize the oc charter, in Mania you got two reasons to replay the game and some extra stuff, that's it.

This has nothing to do with being a 90's kid, most Sonic fans are 90's kids, it's about letting Nintendo fanboys run everything... into the ground, thinking they account for more people then they actually do.

Well the people I call fucking 90's kids are the Sonic fans who hate everything Sonic does and just want it to go back to the classics games, which is how we got mania. The person doesn't even have to born in the 90's, just as long as they do and say stupid stuff to people who like any Sonic at isn't the classics, like calling someone a 12 year old bich. That's how you tell if someone is a fucking 90's kid and not a normal 90's kid.

Hopefully if it gets a sequel, Iizuka and Sonic Team will take Taxman and Stealth of the nostalgia leash and let them actually make a completely original game with 100% new levels.

Yeah. I've asked this question several times, how the hell is Sonic Mania going to be any different from all the truck loads of fan made sonic games we already have? Cause it feels like this game is getting the Street Fighter X Mega Man treatment. And still, to this day, no one has given me a reasonible answer.

You post pictures with captions and call Sega unoriginal? Have you even read the submission rules on posting for this site? Since pretty sure captions on official pics like that aren't allowed on dA, go look it up as it's better to look up things for yourself then expect knowledge to be given out like free candy.

Being brutally honest since sugar coating just isn't my thing so hope maybe you'll learn for the better and all for the future? I hate it when people go around breaking rules like that as they end up turning for the worst or regret their decisions later on so I can't help but give some advice.. ^_^;

Listen, my man, if the guys here at DA didn't want people making memes they would've been and stopped this a long time ago, the fact that there are groups entirely made for this is evident that they really don't care.
As for being unoriginal, I'm not the one beingΒ paid to make games, I'm the customer and the one who decides how much money these people get for their work, as many others who give then their hard earned money, so it's nobody's business how I express my views of their products,and if you don't like it, you can kiss my green ass.

I do care about the rules actually and work hard following them, and there are so many users here and so little staff members so that's is why the site is so chaotic as it is now..Β

Regardless of what you feel about the rules, it has nothing to do with me. I'm not hiding anything, so if I'm really doing something, the powers that be will see about me. I actually had a submission removed before, and it wasn't even a meme but a journal, so it's not like they don't see what I'm doing.

No I haven't tried making a game before, but that has nothing to do with it, Sega is company, they're paid to make games, and after more then 20+ years of experience, the difficulty of making games shouldn't even be a discussion. Being reasonable is expecting better from a company of this status, not defending them for the mistakes they've chose to make.

Sorry but this after school special shit is lost on me. This has not only be totally fine for over a decade, but it's still advocated by people who usually still defend Sega for what they do now, by still complaining about what they did over a decade ago.

Well, no matter what you say, people have been posting memes, and there are many meme groups here on DeviantART. So yeah, he is technically breaking the rules, but that really doesn't matter as many people have posted memes on here, and did so without consequence. If anything, it's DA not taking its own rule seriously and letting people do so.Β

IKR? The recycling needs to stop, it's be different if it was once in a while throughout the games, but it's been happening since Sonic 4 and now Mania is entirely based on this, oh wait, there's 3 or 4 new stages, granted a couple more we don't know.

EXACTLY! What's funny is what me and someone else pointed out, almost all of us a classic fans, the main difference is the normal guys like us and the elitist who try to shame you for liking the series for what it was, the main ones pushing for Sonic to be like Mario, which they got with Lost World.
Honestly though, I can see the appeal of nostalgia but I know you can see how much of a problem it's been now. Hell I like playing games from my childhood sometimes like Streets of Rage or even more, it's remake, but it's because I still have fun playing that, not to relive my childhood.
